Re: telford gone
feel bad for the fans, thats northwitch saved aswell then.
looks like we never in any danger at all of going straight back down last season. |
Re: telford gone
Gutted for them, but they will start again & I'm sure the journey back to the conference will be a rollercoaster one....
...I'm a bit jealous as I'd love to relive Radcliffe Borough & the promotion of 2000 all over again Bring on the new season.... Jase Graham |
Re: telford gone
the radcliffe day was unbelivable, nothing has topped that since.

Re: telford gone
You are not wrong my friend, although we've been close this season at Exeter, Aldershot. Morecambe but the results didn't go right

Re: telford gone
I heard quite a bit about this on local radio yesterday but little from the fans who must be absolutely gutted. The remaining board members have worked their socks off trying to save the club but with a pile of debts and no income coming in it was going to be impossible to persuade the Conference that they could fulfil next season's fixtures, hence the decision to go into liquidation. The supporters trust is hoping to persuade the FA to allow them to enter the pyramid for next season. Where they will play seems uncertain as the ground is on a long-term lease to the club but has charges and mortgages on it tied up with the former chairman's business. Losing Conference status is bad enough but if they have to start again with a new ground life will be very difficult.
Best wishes and the best of luck to everyone at Telford, especially the fans. |
Re: telford gone
Some better news for Telford fans: AFC Telford United is up and running and are hoping to gain admission to the Unibond Premier or Southern League premier and play their home games at the Buck's Head.
There's more on http://www.shropshirestar.com/news/p...le_17991.shtml and http://www.shropshirestar.com/sport/...le_17995.shtml. As well as Northwich benefitting from Telford's demise it looks like there will be room in Conference North/South for another team. I wonder how they'll sort that one out. Could it be Burscough who lost the Unibond play off final? |
