Re: Please Read; The Seats The Facts!!
Well it's fair play to the club from me. We have to consider our financial security and league status above anything else. So what if the seats in the Clayton End look a bit odd when we're still in the black and in the league?
Re the blue seats - I'm sure at least one of our sponsors would donate a bit of cash towards some red paint? Proper stuff mind, people don't want to take the red away as a souvenir :) We'll never be lacking in volunteers to get the job done. Don't see what all the fuss is about really. Necessary evils & all that! |

Aye fair enough, Wyn. But let's remember that it is just a change, not a demolition job.

Re: Please Read; The Seats The Facts!!
Don't like the thought of a all seater clayton end,when all seater replaces all standing the atmosphere seems to dissapear,you only have to watch a match on the tele and listen.Liverpool,man utd,rovers etc,nobody seems to sing like they used to when it was all standing,everyone surging forward when a goal was scored or a near miss just as you took a mouth full of steaming hot bovril.But we didn't care,oh happy days,lol,i rest my case.KP will remember he's old enough lol.

It's clear to everyone who isn't a wannabe Fox Mulder that the club is only doing what is necessary to a) stay in the black and b) stay in the football league. Eric would never want the ground to be all-seating - I mean come on, we all know he is one of the old guard when it comes to... everything - but if the team become that succesful then it may be necessary. For instance, take the sponsorship of the ground's name. No one at the club would've wanted to change the name of The Crown Ground, but the moneys taken from the deal are essential to the club's day-to-day running. No one from the club is "selling the fans down the river", as you insultingly put it a while back. There's no alternative to compliance with Football League rules as long as we are fortunate enough to have a team that can keep us there. |
Re: Please Read; The Seats The Facts!!
Im sure they`d move the ground and have a new one built if they where to make the clayton end an all seater!
And hopefully neither of them will happen!! |

:confused::confused::confused::confused:
Posts from the club seem to have dried up at the moment!!! Are we to read anything into this???? |
Re: Please Read; The Seats The Facts!!
Posts have dried up from the club because too busy to comment and nothing more to say!!;)
The seats will be in place in time and no there are no plans to make the Clayton End all seater; nobody wants more than 2000 seats and we can't afford to reduce the capacity under 5K. What more is there to say???:) |
Re: Please Read; The Seats The Facts!!
On what has been a pretty bad week - results and injuries Etc. - that is a result!
:):):) Cheers Mark. |
