Back in Conference days, I can remember standing next to a Port Vale scout at the Gay Meadow - he reckoned Proccy was the best player on the field.

The problem with thoughts like that(Griffiths,Gornell Etc.) is that we must face facts that not too many players want to come to Stanley! Whilst we do have some that love the club(Mullin) and players that do really enjoy playing for the club and its fans(Arthur and Proccy to name but two) and it is my opinion that players like the former are incredibly hard to come by (Shearer spings to mind) and players like the latter also. Most just look at ££££ and keep on signing contracts. So I personally would rather have a Team of players that want to be there and not just turning up cos they have to!!!!

Totally agree with valarian,and can we afford to let proccy go if we can't get anyone to replace him?it appears to be getting harder to attract players to stanley as it is,not heard any news of any players being looked at and nothing on main web site as usual.Anybody know anything about any new players?.

Agree with you afrikaaner! What new players?????? Not too many want to come,what we need is players who are at the end of their years, but with some experiance i.e. Windass/Fowler Etc.(I do not mean these players,but this type of player!)

I would bring back Michael Welch - and use him as a striker. OK - I've said that before! But I still think it could work.

As for Proccy and Griffiths, there is simply no comparison. In the three games I've seen Griffiths play, he didn't make a single tackle; nor did he succeed in making any worthwhile pass to a Stanley player. Some have said that he has improved. Maybe, but I did not rate him at all.

I must say that I saw Griffiths play a few times and he did improve and was a good player! But I also agree that he was not one for the scrap!! Like I have said already Proccy in my opinion is a Stanley Scrapper, we must keep him on board.

if any bid was a silly one (£100k plus?) then obviously it has to be accepted but please Proccy - sign a one year contract, play crap and come back to us next year!

He may care about the club but does it work vice versa, i know theres more to money but with current climate he could be tempted away either himself or by the club. Surprised we havent got anyone in the transfer window to strengthen our squad which is much needed!

Don't know what happened with welchy's departure but i'd have him back tomorrow,others may not agree with me but thats my opinion and i'm sticking with it.And we certainly need new players if we can get any too come to accy,Kevin gallens on the loose if my memory serves me correctly,and are we negotiating to bring gregg blundell back,i think he could be good for us up front.

Andy proctor should stay at accy,he's local,loves the club and who would we get to replace him ? his form may be a bit erratic but tell me a player who hasn't suffered a dip in form at some time this season. Hence the position we are in for the 3rd season running.

Good news but it only sounds like not enough money! What happens if they up the offer? Because as I have said before would not want to lose him because what we would get for him (even if it was £100K) would in the long run be a bad move for the club:(:(

why would it though! coley does not want any players going he stated that in the paper the other day but he says he cant stop the players from leaveing if they want to! what if they offer better wages and proccy wants to go! what have we got to offer that will stop him from going! if from that money we can get gornell or giffiths or maybe two good strikers or a few players than it would be good deal

Do not think we could afford Gornell/Griffiths to be honest! Gornell is as we all know a class act and very young and all strikers of that quality cost ££££. Griffiths maybe not so, but to be honest I personally think we can get by without a player like Griffiths, but I think that if we do not have a couple of decent strikers we will be in trouble, and selling Proccy will not finance 2 good strikers.So Coley will have to unearth some from somewhere!!!!!!

I was talking to a guy in rochdale yesterday who i know very well,he is quite high up in Rochdale afc circles and knows more than most.In conversation about proccy going to rochdale he said that the stumbling block was proccy's wage demands but they were trying to sort the problem out.So it would appear that the transfer is still ongoing at this moment in time,grimps was with me at the time so he knows what was said.I personally would like to see proccy stay because we haven't got anyone to replace him,but if the monies right then will accy be forced to sell if proccy wants to go somewhere else for a new challenge.If thats the case and with the transfer window closure looming ever closer we need to get in reinforcements in case the worst happens.

looking at it his wage demands does he want double what hes on here every one knows stanley players dont get paid what they should at league 2 level! or have they offered him what hes on here?? it looks like he wants to go as but wants more money than what rochdale thought! if he does go it will be sad to see him go but than we must get griffiths or another midfielder as proccy was good in midfield last night

How does he look like he wants to go? It doesnt, he doesnt know any more then us about this situation when we asked him in the clubhouse after last saturdays game v Barnet + also he played well on tuesday which doesnt show he wants to leave either! Normal players at clubs if they want to leave dont play well and put on a strop , this is not the case with proccy.

Procter has gave us many good apperances, many amazing goals and alot of celebration but if a club like Rochdale who are pushing to go up he is going to go for it. He maybe wants a different experience in football before his career ends and rightly so and deserves it after his service and commitment to us. Hes on the top of his game at the minute and il be very sad to see him go. Because proctor is very settled at accrington and loves the club , the only reason he would leave would be money and thats what football is now , a business. Please stay proctor but i respect your decision if you leave!
