Yes Turner has returned to the starting 11! and Grant on the bench! Lets use the wings now. McConville did have a bandage on his arm on tuesday so maybe that is something to do with it! Feeling positive about today with Turner back in starting line-up

Re: V Shoots game thread
Lewis Chalmers and Marvin Morgan have provided an early threat for the Shots while Anthony Charles just had a free header over from a corner - home side made the better start..c'm on Stanley

Is anyone else having problems getting 2br on line?
I was hoping for coverage of Burnley v Wednesday and the Stanley game. I am having to rely on Radio Sheffield commentary which is great though of course minus Dan unfortunately. |

Re: V Shoots game thread
After all those unconverted Owls chances Burnley have equalised now as well.
Can it get any worse? |
Re: V Shoots game thread
Triple change - Procter, Higginbotham and Grant on. Turner, Miles and J Mullin off.
Now people can not say he makes subs to late!!! |
Re: V Shoots game thread
Desperation? ;)
It's been coming to be honest. We should have conceded a good few on Tuesday night. |
Re: V Shoots game thread
It would appear to be a good attacking move, but leaves us open at the back.
The only thing to do under the circumstances though. |

Full Time 3-1
|
Re: V Shoots game thread
Finished three one. Coleman will be furious with Reds goal which didn't stand and three sloppy goals Stanley gave away. Defence was ripped open end of first half. Was a better second half show but had too much to do.Seven games without a win for Reds

Re: V Shoots game thread
What JC had to say after todays game.... John Coleman was calm after the match. He was disappointed at the way the goals went in and blamed bad defending for all three goals. He was pleased to get a goal after six hours without scoring but knows the pressure is on
Coleman said there were signs of the defence being wide open at Luton and were punished today. he didnt blame the ref for disallowing a 'goal' for Reds in first half. He knows they need to improve away form - last win was October on travels He was pleased with performance but said you don;t win points for artistic merit - they have got to start winning and winning ugly if necessary as did play well in parts. Says lucky other teams below didnt close gap too much. |

I think 2 points out of 15 is more likely. Draws against Vale and Macclesfield, battered by the rest. We're not going to be relegated, but I struggle to see where we're going to get a win with our present form. When even Kenny's playing poorly, that says something. |

Re: V Shoots game thread
When you have a statue playing at full back (Bell) it's bound to make the rest of the defence and the keeper edgy. I have not seen him make a tackle yet. At Aldershot a Southern based Red asked me if Bell was normally a full back thinking that he was maybe playing out of position. I told him that he was the assistant manager's son. "That explains it" was his reply. If he gets another contract at the end of the season then there is seriously something wrong. He isn't and never will be a footballer. Charnock and Edwards are constantly covering for him leaving the centre of defence open. Aldershot played on him on Saturday knowing that he was weak. In my opinion that is what cost us the game and if he plays on Tuesday and Port Vale have done their homework he will probably cost us the game again.

Re: V Shoots game thread
Come on folks keep the faith!!
I genuinely believe that this year Eric and John set out their stall to try and consolidate our position in league 2 then try to push on next year!! I admit it hasn't gone as well as we all would have hoped but if we are in the same position next year then I will be worried...... |

Re: V Shoots game thread
Jeff, your post sums up the position perfectly. Poor Jay tries his best, but at some time it must be realised that he is never going to be a footballer. This is pretty much the same situation as the one which cost us the admirable Mark Roberts last season. He spent so much time concentrating on covering for Graham Branch that he ended up neglecting his own duties. Unfortunately, the same is happening with Kieron and Phil, which leaves gaps down the middle and puts extra pressure on Kenny. It's not rocket science - but it needs to be addressed!
