First Away game against Morecambe & I fly out to Fuerteventura the very next day, quality. Lets invade Morecambe tell your friends, fill your car lets have a real new season seaside party!!!!

I'm gonna prepare now by ripping up a yellow pages for the occasion - Ticker tape display anyone????

Hope the Burberry stay away though. Other dates to note Gravesend away in between Xmas derbies at Halifax. Last away game Hereford & last home Aldershot. Could be crackers if we are up there....

My Holiday means I miss York away on a Bank Holiday Monday, disgusted with the wife for that one.....

See you all tonight for the "Wayne Rooney Show" after his goal against Croatia I asked Eric to get his cheque book out!!!!

Come On New Season, Quality Accy 2 Burton 1 (Evil & CRANEY to score)

Re: Fixtures Out Now

Quite happy with the fixtures.

Burton home first up followed by our derby against
Morecambe :D

We'll take 2,000 to Halifax on New Years Day which will be great.

The only one I don't understand is December 28. Away to Gravesend ??
Why are we going down London over the Christmas period,
Surely the FA could have give us a shorter Trip ??

What does everyone else think ??

Ps. See ya all tonight !!

Re: Fixtures Out Now

The bigger problems are the FA cup and FA Trophy dates/fixtures. Just look at some of the away trips that will be changed to a tuesday night (remember margate) if we get through either cup

I think it's so the caravans have time to get to Appleby when they set off the day before. The travellers must have been praying for Carlisle away for the horse fair.

Re: Fixtures Out Now

So, the York away trip has now been switched from Bank Holiday Monday to the day after (7.45pm kick off). That's put paid to my travel plans. Apparently York requested it because of the high cost of policing. Funny, isn't it, how other clubs, including Stanley, manage to pay the cost of policing Bank Holiday fixtures?

KIPAX 25-06-2004 14:07

Re: Fixtures Out Now

Who says its been changed?

Smiffy16 25-06-2004 14:08

Re: Fixtures Out Now

I havent heard that either........

Wynonie Harris 25-06-2004 14:12

Re: Fixtures Out Now

Evening Telegraph say so.

KIPAX 25-06-2004 14:23

Re: Fixtures Out Now

Yes just had it confirmed by the club. It would seem the Telegraph jumped the gun.. Just so happens they are right but the club only just got it confirmed themselves.

Tuesday gives the fans a better chance to get there.. York is along the main route to Scarborough and east coast holiday resorts.. Anyone who went to Scarborough last year will know what a nightmare that route is :)

Will be changed on the website in a mo

Wynonie Harris 25-06-2004 14:43

Re: Fixtures Out Now

Well, I can see your point about Bank Holiday traffic. Tuesday night's a sod if you're trying to get there (and back) from Stockport by public transport, though.

That'll be twelve of you then?

Re: Fixtures Out Now

I know thast the A59 is not the best way to go on a bankholiday, especially if it is a nice day as well. However i think it will put a few people off going it being on a tuesday evening with work etc. but might have gone if it was a bank holiday and make a day of it. I am planning to go any way, but if it ewas the monday i might have gone by train, and made i day of it (rather than drive) and it would also have allowed me to have a drink. On atuesday the train is diffo out if you want the one straughgt back to accrington (might be able to do it if you go via manchester, but have not checked this)

Re: Fixtures Out Now

It's a 7.45 KO and the last time I went to York it took just a little over an hr on a Friday night.. (so Jeff can do it in 30 mins probably hehe) I would say 1.30 hrs Accy to York

AccyMad 26-06-2004 18:17

Re: Fixtures Out Now

Not the same as having a day out on a bank holiday though - probably won't go to that one now. I think Eric should have stuck to his guns & insisted we play on the original date.

rishton 27-06-2004 18:47

Re: Fixtures Out Now

If my previous message was unclear sorry i was aiming at something along the lines of accymad that some who might not go on a tuesday might have gone for a 3pm ko on a bank holiday but left early monday morning and made a morniing and early afternoon iin york before the game,, now they might not go because of perhaps work commitments might not give them aenough time to get there and some might hasve wife, kids etc but took them on a bank holiday monday and made a day of it

Wynonie Harris 28-06-2004 07:32

Re: Fixtures Out Now

Like a number of other people, I won't be able to go now. Why should we be disappointed just to suit York City? If the club can't afford policing, they shouldn't be playing in the conference.
