i think the lines get blurred as to whose club it is Willie.

we think that the club is 'ours' as it 'belongs' to Accrington but Eric actually owns it and technically can do what he wants with it at any point (just like Mr Harchester!)

It's not Erics fault that Fraser Eagle went tits up, it's not his fault that the world is in severe financial decline, and its definitely not his fault that Lord Mawhinney (or Mulwhinney as Eric called him) saw fit to enforce the ruling on ground grading.

However as Chief Custodian of the club it IS his fault that the club has consistently failed to develop any meaningful revenue streams, other than matchday, during his 14 year tenure, it IS his fault that the club didn't spend 3 years trying to find a better remedy to the seating problem, it IS his fault that HE has consistently alienated many fans and many small businesses in the borough.

Eric is the nearest human equivalent of a double edged sword. There is no doubt that without him we would be playing in the BSP North and dreaming of the National version but on the other hand it is the penny pinching or bare minimumness (is that a word?) that has led us to reaching our pinnacle without any real way of making any money other than by having a succesful team - which we can't have cos we can't afford one!

I've never known what I truly think of the guy because he tries his damndest to rebuff endearment - but I do find his honest way of talking to be 'very Accringtonian' if not entirely honest

It is also not Eric's fault that some fans entire Stanley experience revolves around moaning.... which in turn makes others moan....

Accrington Stanley with all its faults has come a long way since 1999. Probably too fast. Anyone remember the old club shop..... remember the old programme..... half time draw prize was a bottle of wine etc etc

Everyone forgets the MAJOR progress, yet everyone remembers the MINOR flaws in the commercial side.

Its ****in hard work running a football club especially inthe current financial climate. Its even harder when SUPPORTERS are calling you a **** for trying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Must agree with both of the above, fair and honest assessments :) Lets just all (who really want to) pull together for The Stanley, and put this thing behind us :)

It is also his fault that the taxman has not been paid. The buck stops at the top and lets face it, the TV show last year did him no favours, nor the club IMHO. But rather than pointing the finger, we should all help and offer solutions to the problems. It is now time for Eric Whalley to stand up and listen to the fans of Accrington Stanley et al and accept offers of help. That way, it will supply a solution to the take-over problem and maybe offer him a way out.

Stop pointing out our faults and work together, when you two can do that, then you work towards working with (Eric) the club to find a resolve. I don't think that any one man can solve this issue, its going to be a team effort.

Am I right in thinking you're comparing Willie Miller with Macca?

From my experience Mr. Miller's posts on here are mainly self serving, whilst Macca ........... well his head just explodes with ideas to forward Stanley.

You're right it needs to be a team effort, that needs team players though, and a bit of maturity.

Working with the Club/Eric is another question again, and therein lies the rub.
