NUMBER 1 = £200 only 999 to go!

Let’s get that £308K knocked off and get this millstone from our necks! :) :)

By the time I’ve finished filtering out little bits here and there (she doesn’t know) it will come close to, if not a little over your suggested figure.

It’s a fantastic gesture on your part, but we are few on here and for it to work you would have to get the message out across the county even to get a moderate response; given the media coverage to date I would say that a lot of people will be turned off by the almost begging attitude of the club the media portrayed. It may just be the way I’m seeing it, but to me the coverage on the major stations has been poor in not negative.

Apparently we’re only famous for Milk and Losing the club in the first place; very little of the 44 year fight back, community work and achievements of the club in recent years…for **** sake Mr. O'Neil ask the media to sell us for our positive contributions rather that our mistakes and failings.

Does page 36 of Last Friday's 'Lancashire Telegraph' answer your question ???

(Quote)...Chief Executive Rob Heyes said: 'We don't have anything new confirmed yet fund-raising -wise. but we have one or two ideas iIN THE BACKGROUND, and we need to sit down and discuss some options as to where to go next' (End of quote).....

Do you. like myself and many others not think that 'sitting down' at this tragic juncture in this parlous predicament is perhaps the one action that should be farthest from the minds of those purporting to have the best interests of our Club at the top of their agenda???...and will it not sustain a suspicion of Board's apparent lethargy towards the situation which the many postings on this thread seem to fear!...

My concern is that if they continue to 'sit down'...then it might just prove difficult to Stand up' again!!.

Let's hope then that what is in THE BACKGROUND will become reality..and will bear the golden fruit which certainly will lead our Club back to near normality (Happy Days!!) whilst allaying the fears of three slightly worried Fans ruminating here in the backwoods!!

I would think this is Rob keeping his powder dry. With six-and-half weeks to go to D-day and a "quiet" period last week, this week is absolutely crucial. I would imagine that the next few days will see the Don and Marcelle initiating a whole host of new fund raising ideas which will give the fund a major boost. In particular, I would expect Marcelle, who has kept in the background until now, to come forth and blossom by announcing the results of her networking amongst her many contacts in the North West sporting world. After all, if they're serious about saving Stanley and if they possess the required skills to be leaders of our club, we would expect no less of them!

Even more reason for the Don and Marcelle to start displaying the many skills that are essential for the leaders of our great club at a time like this! :)

Lazarus has been working behind the scenes at Stanley over the past few months and one of her commercial activities includes establishing a link-up between the Reds and Belle Vue. (taken from Citizen 29th July 09)

Quite right and I would imagine that the Don and Marcelle are sitting in the boardroom as we speak, putting the final touches to the detailed and large scale plans that will be needed to raise the remaining £230k in just five weeks. In fact, I expect them to make an announcement this very day!

Tut tut, Mr C! Such cynicism! I would imagine that the Don, like all great leaders, is even now fine-tuning his battle plans, with the aid and assistance of his trusty lieutenant, Marcelle!

As an outsider who has contributed, the whole campaign seems to have slowed to a trickle, since the first initial push or as the total not been updated for a while
