Me too I've hated that club with a passion since I was a boy those claret & blue V shirts :mad:. My Father always used to tell me Bob Lord shafted us but at least this time its a genuine offer ;)

You can,t wipe the Bob Lord slate clean for those of us that were there BUT it was Bob Lord not Burnley although at the time he thought he was Burnley!! A nice gesture though from the Burnley management.

Someone said to me a few years ago that Lord was dead and gone and only a fool would hold a grudge this long, but some stains are indelible …I guess we’re all fools at some time in our lives and I’m sure that one day those effected by 62 will fade away like all the Stanley Rearguard have before then and only then will people forget…..but the Spirit lives on and only Spirit will forgive

Keep digging the bob lord **** up again when things go tits up but stanley then and stanley now must accept their owners got stanley in the mess in the 1st place and thus where the problem started! Easy to etch blame on those than finalised it be it lord or be it taxman. Thats the one major thing for me about don he has accepted this and is willing to do something about it he,s inherited it and for once hope that it wont go back that way again or im sure there would be no club, as the older generation haven't forgot the last time and now this, there wont be a next time.

they charged the everton fans £34 to get in, i presume it wont be anything near that figure on tuesday?

A good point SM !, but wouldn't you agree that then was then, and now is NOW ...Different times-differing circumstances, and how the face of Football has changed since that shattering and emotive intervention of Bob Lord so long ago !.
But today's Status Quo exists, and the emergency facing our Club is as real, if not more pressing than that facing the Stanley in 'the bad old days'.

Yet it would appear that from all the mechanisms for survival and future growth of 'The Reds' which have, and are now presenting themselves as potential strategies for this purpose, by far outstrip those efforts able to made to save the Club in those far off, but never forgotten days!.

Is not this then a situation which can offer to us all a measure of optimism and assurance that all will be well ?....and I'm not wearing my Red-tinted spectacles as I put forward this opinion!!.

As many have said on our Forum....If there ever was a time in the history of Accrington Stanley which demanded real ACTION and less of the constant literal analysis of political and fiscal convolutions at 'The Crown', then it is NOW !!......the scenario which will be consequent to a failure to meet the struggle facing everyone involved, just cannot be imagined !..

So..'ON...ALL WHO LOVE 'THE STANLEY!!...ON!.

Gratefully accept owt we get imho, its a bit of a swipe comment, whats everton doing for us even more whats big sam's rover's doing for us? Dont see any offers from elsewhere but bury and burnley whom are and have supported our club not fair to nit pick

Fair play to the Clarets for offering A.S.F.C. a great opportunity to help us raise the money in our hour of need. Whatever happened in '62, a.k.a. Bob Lord and all........ at least they're offering their help.:o

Unlike their bitter rivals in my home town.( I'd like to say up to press.... )but if the attitude of their "fans" is anything to go by, then I'm not over optimistic about Rovers helping us out.

After a drink in my local tonight, celebrating a fantastic win (at our neighbours and good friends at Bury) I can only hope that they follow Burnley's lead....

Somehow I doubt it.:(

I can only say....that despite the current plight of Stanley, the people I spoke with tonight were....( bearing in mind I have a good command of the English Language)........

Condescending.....Arrogant.......Iggnorant.....and self important...The rules of this forum dictate that I cannot use expletives to add to these. Bear that in mind.

I hope I have only experienced a narrow minded sample of the opinion of Rovers fans in general.

Lest they forget, that before a certain steel magnate put a vast amount of money into their club and saved them from lower league football, they were on the brink of the Abyss.

But for Jack Walker, Blackburn Rovers would have NEVER won the Premier League, let alone be anywhere near it and maybe if Mr. Walker's money had not transpired,Rovers would be languishing in lower league football.....which I am proud to say...I watch proper football.

I only hope that the sample of Rovers fans, I have had the misfortune to drink with tonight, are among a very small minority.

Not everyone gets a suggar daddy with a bottomless pit of cash, which, he deems fit, to transform, a down on it's luck club and it's run down facilities, into League Title winners.

And before all the Rovers fans with more humps than a herd of camels start having a go.... remember that Ewood Park with the holes??? Remember signs in front of the old Blackburn End...." No bad Language please ...Don"....

Before Walker put his money there Rovers were an average side......they might have even dropped back to the third tier ( as they did in the late seventies / early eighties ) or even dropped lower....who knows.

Without his generosity where would they be now ????:confused:

I think you may be right. It won't be £7 or £8 otherwise they will be running to the local shops every 2 minutes asking for spare pound coins :D
