I don't know Dave; but for what you tell me I have a lot of respect for his actions. my action was not intended to be personal and I fully accept your post. |

O'neill is a buisness man. He has control of the club and the finances of the club ultimatly are his responsibility. He may feel uncomfortable with protests, he might not like the witch hunt for transparency and truth, but what will definatly make him aware of how I feel is by not spending a penny at the club going forward. Does it mean I wont attend cup games or away games - no. But I certainly wont be buying any merchandise. This IMO, is the best way of making him take note of my grievance. Money is the only thing he seems concerned about. |

My Mentality and Argument is to continue to support the club blindly or otherwise, not spending won’t hurt David O’Neil by any degree, but if enough of you do it; it will hurt the club. But I respect your view point we each have to do that which we feel is right, like O’Neil we are responsible by our action or inactions. |
Re: O'Neill OUT!
Anything that implements change (within the law) is every supporters right ....
We want a Supporters Trust We want no one man to own more than say 30% We want to know how much we owe & to who Dave is right, we blindly followed the SOS appeal & were kicked in the teeth. The time for change is now, we MUST act! |
Re: O'Neill OUT!
If the interests of Mr O'Neill are truly Accrington Stanley then he should go because staying will decrease crowd numbers DANGEROUSLY low. However if his interests aren't Accrington Stanley he should seriously ask himself why he is here with all the problems and negative publicity.
Thank you Ilyas and Peter for saving my town team. You can be the Chairmen anyday. |
Re: O'Neill OUT!
Not putting money in to the club just means our new fairy godfather will have to dig into his own pocket again when the next tax bill comes around, and the team won't get paid unless the PFA keep shelling out.
Exactly how does that hurt O'Neil ? I fully understand the feeling and the objective, but that tactic doesn't make sense. Make the point with banners ! |

Re: O'Neill OUT!
On the subject of changes at the helm, I'm mindful that Mr Khan requested calm to allow things to be worked out over this coming week or so. However, I do feel that the fans have been swatted away like an irritating wasp with bland & meaningless statements both by Rob and Mr O'Neill. It reached the ludicrous point where we could not believe anything they uttered. And then they turn up on the day of reckoning with nowhere near the required sum - after all the blood swet 'n tears that have seen the impossible rise from the ashes of '62, they basically killed the club. Only the uninvited intervention of Messrs Khan/Marsden prevented the unthinkable. So it is likely that we will survive this time but without serious change at the top I would not bet against a repeat next year. As someone said, the two Directors at the Chesterfield meeting nearly got their way. They at least should go immediately with no ifs or buts - what good were/are they ?
I sensed from Rob's radio piece that the next bit of blind hope in the boardroom is that if they keep their heads down for a few weeks all will be forgotten. Not a chance, I for one could not trust them again. I think it was Yonmon who said that apart from this unholy mess, the fans are fully behind the players and John 'n Jimmy. They must have been training under very unsettling conditions. May they be assured that we, the fans, fully appreciate their professional attitude. Hopefully it will have helped to weld them into an even more one-for-all tight unit and the Stanley young-guns will spectacularly blow Grimsby away t'morra night. |
Re: O'Neill OUT!
I think to bring people like Mick Schultz etc into the debate is completely wrong in my opinion.
This whole argument has been directed at DON, RH and EW (in bits). Who as we know are unfit to run a Football club. |

In many ways I feel sorry for Rob. If he was an employee of a normal business then I suspect he would have walked away long ago. I suspect if he supported a different team he would also have walked away by now. If you hold the position he does for the team you support I think most people would prefer to try and fix it from within. Rob is being made accountable by many simply because he is the only one who can speak to the press with any amount of eloquence. In most football clubs the Chairman is not only quite capable of doing that for himself, but also quite willing. It's also fair to say that the club's owner would also speak up in cases like this, as the ownership of the club appears to be subject to various opinions rather than fact I guess that rules that one out to. I haven't a clue what Rob's qualifications of are doing the job so I can't say if he is capable of doing the job or not. Like any other business the buck stops at the top, Rob is not that person. |
