Game on Saturday
Alright Chaps
As there are no Championship games on Saturday, myself and a couple of northenders are thinking of jumping on the train to come and watch you boys. I'd be grateful for your help with a couple of (o.k., a few) questions: Can we pay on the gate (if not when ticket office open 'til)? Is the Crown the best place for a pint before the game? Is it close to the train station? Is it close to the ground?!! Any help much appreciated - cheers |
Re: Game on Saturday
Yes you can pay on the gate
would not like to say the crown is the best pub i would say its abought a mile to the train station but they is buses hope you enjoy |
Re: Game on Saturday
There's decent Sam Smith's at £1.47 a pint at the Greyhound a little further out of town.

Re: Game on Saturday
And if your after a cheap chain pub pint there is The Calder on blackburn road, you'll pass it on your way from the rail station as you head towards town

With 3 of them sharing probably cheaper and a lot easier to get a taxi from the station :) |

Re: Game on Saturday
I get the train sometimes. It can take over 2 hours from liverpool if you dont get good connecting times.
The Preston to Accrington train ride is no more than 20/25 minutes and is generally an empty train. The walk to the ground from Accrington station is no more than 15 minutes. I wouldnt bother with a taxi as their are shops/pubs on the way for refreshment. |
Re: Game on Saturday
yeh it is a nightmare from Lime Street.
But jump on the Trans Pennine express to York or Leeds (from Preston) and you will be Accrington in about 20 mins :) On another bright note, ive pursuaded a load of Oldham fans to come to the Barnet cup game, so hopefully will have a few more down then aswell :) |
