robbie williams
reading on the Southport website that they are looking to finalise the signing of Robbie Williams today. Apparently the local Ladbrokes are rubbing their hands together and with the odds being offered Southport FC have given up any hope of promotion!

Re: robbie williams
Well said Nige !

Re: robbie williams
Hes done his time from football and has probably payed his fine. Robbie was a legend when at stanley, shame he buggered it up with a stupid bet.
Good luck Robbie!!!! |
Re: robbie williams
No he wasnt a legend.
He was a conference player at best and 99% of people knew it. |
Re: robbie williams
even if he was a conference standard player (not my opinion i would still have him in this squad) he played a major role in gettin this club 3 promotions. what qualifies being a legend. Boco helped with 1 promotion how does that make him more of a legend than robbie. always will be a legend to me. thanks robbie and good luck
|
Re: robbie williams
You would have robbie in THIS squad???
Sorry but we must not be watching the same game of football. He made massive mistakes throughout his time in the football league and was probably betting on us most of the time anyway. Good riddance. |
Re: robbie williams
No matter what you say, both cav and rocky helped stanley to league 2, shame what happened but good luck to both of them,
|
Re: robbie williams
Theres a difference between helping us INTO league 2 and being good enough to PLAY in it is there not???
|
Re: robbie williams
phil edwards has made a good few mistakes these last few months does that make him a bad player too. imho robbie is better than kempson, and alot better than conference north standard
|
Re: robbie williams
robbie is NEVER better than Kempo ................................
|
Re: robbie williams
Both Rocky & Cav were part of Stanley history, that is how it should stay!

Re: robbie williams
football is all about opinions and mine differs to a few. am not saying darren is a bad player far from it, he is a good physical stopper. i just feel robbie had abit more to his game than darren. robbie could play midfield and at full back too, he was very good at left back at the end of last season. i cudnt see darren playing anywhere else, they both make mistakes, if robbie had scored the own goals that darren has scored this year he wud of been castrated on here. that is why i think he is a superior player

Re: robbie williams
realistically rocky was bloody stupid in what he did and whilst his footballing credentials were and probably are still questionable! He certainly wouldn't be part of the current squad, however his celebration after his goal at Walsall was fantastic
I complete disagree as Nige B's lady, live and learn!! I think all are allowed a second chance and let him be!! |

Rocky is a legend for helping us in 3 promotions! He put so much effort in at times playing and had many a great performance! For what he did he is a legend in my eyes, this status however faded with the dishonest and most unloyal thing he could of done and he got punished for it and it will never be forgotten! HOWEVER hes done his time and payed the price and will never get as much respect now as he did and never will, but that's his own fault! It would be certainly wrong for himself to associate himself ever with ASFC again however that doesn't mean that he cant now look to the future and carry on playing football. Good luck to him i say and thankyou for the years of service, shame you cocked it up with such stupidity! As for Rocky is better then Kempo, come on.......specsavers is that way >>>>>> |
Re: robbie williams
Not a league 2 player we have moved forward since then! keep up with times onwards and upwards!!! out with the rot in with the new!!

Re: robbie williams
He'll do a job in the conference, which is where scouseport hope to be next year. Pity his time at accy ended as it did but like others on here I'll always be grateful for the part he played in getting us to the promised land.
Does anyone know whether Cav has a new club yet. Thought he'd find it even easier than Rocky and I suspect there's a few on hear that will get worried the longer he's a free agent. (bedsred now retreats to a safe distance) |
Re: robbie williams
He will be back, Cav is innocent (joins Bedsred behind the sofa.......)

Re: robbie williams
how do you know there isnt a long line of bigger clubs waiting to sign him up. just cos he signed for southport doesnt mean he hasnt turned any1 else down. if my memory serves me correctly he had a good job b4 we went full time he might have decided to stay part time he is 30ish i think. as for cav his ban is up after the window so he wont be back this season, best he could hope for is a few non league games at the end of the season, i think there registration process is different to the league
