Re: symes ?? leaving
Symes leaving has been on the cards since December, it should not come as a suprise to anyone.
I am informed we are set to pick up recently released Crewe midfielder Danny O'Donnell? Is it to replace John Mullin? Is John Mullin retiring or moving on? |
Re: symes ?? leaving
rumours, rumours, lets see what happens over the summer, must look after him to keep him though,

Re: symes ?? leaving
He has been offered more cash, but as he has said this week, he would like to play at a higher level!! If Dale come in for him, he will probably go, let's just wait and see.

Re: symes ?? leaving
Friday's Bellylaugh (L.E.T.) had an article stating that yesterday may have been his last game for Stanley, with little snippets like Keith Hill (Dale) were interested in him and quotes that Symes "would like to play at a higher level".
From personal opinion, this situation has been on the cards since Symes hasn't signed an improved deal (if there ever was one on the table) and you can't blame the lad for wanting to play at a higher level. However we know that the club only ever had one concrete offer (Grimsby), the club rejected the money and Symes obviously didn't want to go to a club that have inevitably dropped to the B.S.P.:o It would be nice if Symes repaid a bit of the faith that Coley & Bell placed in the lad and signed up for another twelve months, maybe putting a contract on the table with a clause allowing Symes to leave if the club received a suitable offer from a club at a higher level that was mutually beneficial to all parties concerned, although I suspect that an agent has become involved. If that's the case I fear that it won't matter what Coley & Bell try to do to keep him, the agent will inevitably try hold the club to ransom or negotiate a better deal for Symes elsewhere.:( I'd be sorry to see Symes go but I think there's players out there who Coley would probably have half an eye on now, especially as it's now the annual clear out season. That Tadgh Purcell from Darlington has reportedly refused to sign a new deal for them, I wouldn't like to guess what sort of wage he'd be after but he'd be the sort of player that would fit the bill. Only time will tell.... |

Not a surprise he has gone :(, but thanks for this season Symesy you where superb.
Coley really has got his work cut out now! |
Re: symes ?? leaving
Good Luck Symesy, will be missed.:(

Re: symes ?? leaving
Hardly a shock, as he made it clear he wasn't going to sign unless a better offer didn't come along & to be honest would we really want anyone signing just to 'make do' I certainly wouldn't - bit of a surprise that it's Bournemouth as he wasn't too well received in his loan spell there but I suppose that was under a different manager & it may be different this time around as he has now learned where the net is :)

Re: symes ?? leaving
Hope Bournemouth get longer than 3-4 months out of him,as since January he was a different player.
As is the case with Kempson apparently a club that offers regular league football and puts players back on the map, very little loyalty is shown!! Stanley can find better than these two and I am sure John & Jimmy will do. |
Re: symes ?? leaving
Meanwhile, Andy Todd has re-signed for Eastwood:
NonLeagueDaily.com I know it's a little off-topic but it's not worth starting a separate thread, is it? |
