Sprinkler system

There will always be a part of Christie Park at your ground, now that our old sprinkler system has been removed from our ground and is about to be installed at The Crown Ground.

Served us well over the past few years and a good investment by your Board.

Just a pity that you couldn't take our North Stand.

Sir,

IF only ASFC had the vision of your fine board!!!:)

The North Stand was made for Accy!!! Glad you've kept it in such good condition!!!

Being the fine Club you are, I believe we've got a bargain:)

Comisserations on the overall play off result, but at least you got there!!

When was the Crown Ground ever dry enough to need a sprinkler system? Or is the plan to sprinkle hot water to melt the ice?

So I take it we're getting the Blackpool stand? Very poor decision by the club, IMHO.

The Crown Ground.

Friday 21st May 2010.

Stanley bring in 15 from Morecambe.

The first signings of the summer have come in the shape of fifteen sprinkler heads and a large water tank from Morecambe.

Earlier today David O'Neill, Bill Holden, Martyn Cook, Aalan Payton and Fran Hartley went up to Christie Park after the clubs agreed a price for the system following the Shrimps final game at the ground ahead of their move to a new stadium in the summer.

The fully automated system will be an essential part of the renovation of our playing surface, and will be installed next week as extensive work on the pitch begins, full details and pictures to follow from Monday!

:) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Won't the Donkey Lashers need the Gene Kelly stand if they win today ? Cant see them buiding a new stand before the start of next season and 1500 or so £35/£40 seats in the open air will be a major source of income for them

If that is the case, Dave, I really, really hope they win!

Plus loads of room for a big stand, and lots of car parking spaces, (or a training complex)

Re: Sprinkler system

According to a bloke in the local club I went in tonight, Oyston has said their ( Blackpool's ) new stand will be up in time for their Premier League season in the sun, meaning the temporary effort will probable make the trip down the M55 / M6 / M65 to our gaff.:o

Whilst it's nice to see that efforts are being made to improve the playing surface, part of me wonders what was the financial difference between moving what would have been a permenant structure and a temporary stand down to the crown. That same part of me thinks the temp stand from Blackpool is; and will be an expensive quick fix solution to our problems.:(

I'd have thought it makes more financial sense making permenant plans, despite the costs, rather than bulldoze the cowshed to put up a temporary fix which will cost to maintain ???
