Would they not perhaps be better employed "making plans" for the extra 500-capacity terracing sections we need if we are not to be unceremoniously chucked out of the league at the end of the season?

wouldn't worry about that mate, coley said in the observer, he aint sure if he would have the funds. i reckon this is probably a diversion from the real issues. forgot to add, that comment was about signing Long,Charnock, and A.N.Other, but all these things involve dosh.

Re: New deals?

Charnock I'd have back, Long is a liability, AN Other needs to be a forward. As for the deals for the other three it won't happen. In seven weeks time Putterill and Parkinson can walk for free and Ryan can start listening to offers to go on the cheap (Bosman rule means we get something). And as we all know, seven weeks is less than one week. And it is likely to happen in the next week or so.

Re: New deals?

I am sure Coly & Jimmy will be looking at the sqaud as a whole and identifying areas for strengthening.

Budgets as always are the key and may mean some being moved out to bring others in as well as players being offered contaract extentions.

The FA Cup may unwittingly play a key part of what happens this side of Christmas as well with a passage through to Round 3 and a decent draw for the Third Round maybe making the difference between possibly being serious play off/promotion candidates or survival being an ends to a mean.

Or perhaps other things may come into play?

One thing for sure life is never dull at Stanley:)
