Bradford Thread

Hi all
apologies for the delay
Here is your team news

John Coleman has made one change for tonight's game with Bradford City.
Charlie Barnett comes into the side for Luke Joyce, who drops to the bench.
Stanley: Dunbavin, Edwards, Long, Hessey, Winnard, Barnett, Procter, Ryan, Putterill, McConville, Gornell
Subs: Cisak, Lindfield, Richardson, Joyce, Parkinson, Boulding, Owens
Dan

SamF 23-11-2010 18:45

Re: Bradford Thread

Thought Joyce played well last game but oh well.

McConville undeservedly holds his place yet again, the new Rocky methinks.(Yes I know he scored the winner but that goal was all Jimmy).

I think that Charlie is a little more attacking than Luke, so it is a positive change for me :)

Five minutes gone and they've been quiet. Stanley lining up as you would expect, Procter currently getting treatment to a head injury.

Teach, the beauty of ex-Premier League facilities is that we've got a press room, tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits and our own press toilets.

I'm composing a letter of complaint though, as there are no longer press doughnuts and cakes.

Still bloody freezing out here though!!!

Re: Bradford Thread

It was a cross in from Ryan on the right that led to the penalty, flicked into the air by Gornell and bounced inside the box hitting a defender on the arm as Putterill pressured him.

Tony Bates pointed to the spot, and Phil did the rest.

Splendid!

Well he arguably didnt take long to cheque whether it was a penalty, a decision which was certainly of some intrest to the Stanley faithful. Although Id bet my mortgage that a branch of the Bradford fans may have taken exception. The charge of handball was a no-brainer and youd have banked on Phil to open Stanleys account tonight.

Fair credit to Phil, he kept his cool before withdrawing back into defence.

Dan 23-11-2010 19:50

Re: Bradford Thread

For the third game running it's hardly been vintage fayre, but Stanley have their noses in front at the break.

The penalty is obviously the difference between the teams, and the home team's fans may feel aggrieved at what they feel was a soft decision. It's in the "seen them given" category for me, but I'd probably be saying something different had it been awarded against Stanley...

The Reds have had a couple of shots, and Bav has been relatively untroubled, so all in all a satisfactory half

Couple of nervy moments there - two great interceptions from Long, one to deny Price and another to cut out a cross.

Re: Bradford Thread

I would have taken a point before the game, but after our dominance in the first half, when we could easily have been 2 or 3 goals to the good, it feels like a missed opportunity. We played some great stuff before half time, but lost our way in the seond half when the inevitable pressure came from Bradford and we struggled to keep possession and lost our midfield composure. In the end we were a bit lucky to come away with a point, but over the whole game were worthy of it. 20 quid to get in or 14 for concessions was a sickener, and 3.30 for a can of ale a no no for me. Good support again from what's left of the Ultras, much appreciated at the end by the players and management duo. A good away night, but I can't help thinking of what might have been if Ray had done better with three good shooting opportunities.

Re: Bradford Thread

I think redraine pretty much summed the game up , and on bradfords forum they were complaining that we were made to look like brazil in the first half.
Funniest part of the match ( not very professional tho !) was when deano went down injured in front of there fans, after getting booed for ten seconds he suddenly flipped and turned and told them to f--k off ! and 2000 fans jumped up at the same time.
In a split second the ultras started singing "deanos goin to t--t up ! as i said not profssional but very funny and witty.
They went berserk when he run back on - was it something to do with them getting a head of steam up and we slowed them down ? mmmm possibly lol
