Bradford Thread
Hi all
apologies for the delay Here is your team news John Coleman has made one change for tonight's game with Bradford City. Charlie Barnett comes into the side for Luke Joyce, who drops to the bench. Stanley: Dunbavin, Edwards, Long, Hessey, Winnard, Barnett, Procter, Ryan, Putterill, McConville, Gornell Subs: Cisak, Lindfield, Richardson, Joyce, Parkinson, Boulding, Owens Dan |
Re: Bradford Thread
Thought Joyce played well last game but oh well.
McConville undeservedly holds his place yet again, the new Rocky methinks.(Yes I know he scored the winner but that goal was all Jimmy). |
Re: Bradford Thread
The black kit gets an outing tonight - with correct shorts!
|
Re: Bradford Thread
I think that Charlie is a little more attacking than Luke, so it is a positive change for me :)

Re: Bradford Thread
Five minutes gone and they've been quiet. Stanley lining up as you would expect, Procter currently getting treatment to a head injury.
And it's FREEZING |
Re: Bradford Thread
Hope you've taken a flask Dan.
|
Re: Bradford Thread
come on you reds
|
Re: Bradford Thread
Teach, the beauty of ex-Premier League facilities is that we've got a press room, tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits and our own press toilets.
I'm composing a letter of complaint though, as there are no longer press doughnuts and cakes. Still bloody freezing out here though!!! |
Re: Bradford Thread
15 minutes gone, are you confident Dan?
|
Re: Bradford Thread
14 minutes gone and no shots and not a lot in the way of talking points.
Belting chocolate and caramel digestives though... |
Re: Bradford Thread
Don't worry about the freezing cold, Dan - it will help you take your mind off the fact that you're in Yorkshire.
|
Re: Bradford Thread
15: First Bradford effort held by Bav
|
Re: Bradford Thread
Press toilets Dan? Do you mean there's no handle?
|
Re: Bradford Thread
Some of you Accywebbers have predicted the future...
McConville is off - limped off to be replaced by Parkinson. Lasted 17 minutes |
Re: Bradford Thread
Penalty to stanley
|
Re: Bradford Thread
Here comes Edwards...
Straight down the middle 1-0 Stanley |
Re: Bradford Thread
Never to wish a professional an injury but I do think that will have strengthened our side, for me Parky is twice the player.
GET IN :D |

Re: Bradford Thread
nice one sunbed!
|
Re: Bradford Thread
Bury already 3-0 up against Lincoln!
|
Re: Bradford Thread
It was a cross in from Ryan on the right that led to the penalty, flicked into the air by Gornell and bounced inside the box hitting a defender on the arm as Putterill pressured him.
Tony Bates pointed to the spot, and Phil did the rest. Splendid! |
Re: Bradford Thread
Sean went off on Saturday with a hamstring injury, is it the same one this time, Dan?
|
Re: Bradford Thread
Great start lets hope we can keep hold of it :)
|
Re: Bradford Thread
get in
|
Re: Bradford Thread
Can't give you any info on McConville as yet... He just trundled off looking uncomfortable. Will try to find out...
|
Re: Bradford Thread
I think it's fair to say that the Bradford fans are a bit miffed with the ref.
Apparently he was part of the recent banking crisis or summat. Certainly sounded like that... |
Re: Bradford Thread
Nice one Phil.... C'mon Stanley lets evoke memorys of Roscoe's double in that glorious 3-0 win!!! :)

well lets hope stanley can do the job tonight.
|
Re: Bradford Thread
You misunderstand.....the locals aren't booing City, their booing the decision to cancel "Last of The Summer Wine". ;)
|
Re: Bradford Thread
For the third game running it's hardly been vintage fayre, but Stanley have their noses in front at the break.
The penalty is obviously the difference between the teams, and the home team's fans may feel aggrieved at what they feel was a soft decision. It's in the "seen them given" category for me, but I'd probably be saying something different had it been awarded against Stanley... The Reds have had a couple of shots, and Bav has been relatively untroubled, so all in all a satisfactory half |
Re: Bradford Thread
We are back under way, with Putterill shooting just wide from Barnett's corner.
|
Re: Bradford Thread
Many gone oer yon Dan?
|
Re: Bradford Thread
No announcement yet yon Cashy (love that turn of phrase by the way) but I'd have a guess at maybe 120. Certainly three figures.
Stanley on the back foot a little now, but standing firm |
Re: Bradford Thread
A friend once gave a talk to the West Midland Bankers. He successfully avoided Spoonerisms. :)
|
Re: Bradford Thread
52: Ref being roundly booed after turning down a Bradford penalty appeal - Bav collided with Jason Price and has come off worst.
Needs treatment |
Re: Bradford Thread
55: Bradford are level - ball played into the area from the right, another appeal for a penalty but the ref waves play on and Jason Price sweeps the ball into the net
1-1 |
Re: Bradford Thread
1-1

Re: Bradford Thread
Thats it Stanley....lead the Yorkshiremen into a false sense of security!!!!
On a more serious note.... :( |
Re: Bradford Thread
Attendance is 10392
149 visitors. 150 including me! |
Re: Bradford Thread
70: Joyce on for Ryan.
jimmy looks to be injured. For the record, McConville has a back problem |
Re: Bradford Thread
Not great this. 17 minutes left and Bradford are definitely on top. Might be a case of put up a rearguard action and try to counter now
|
Re: Bradford Thread
78: Enter Leam Richardson for Barnett
|
Re: Bradford Thread
Joyce moves into the holding role with Procter, Richardson right, Putterill centre and Parkinson left
|
Re: Bradford Thread
hopefully will nick this. come on leam.
|
Re: Bradford Thread
Couple of nervy moments there - two great interceptions from Long, one to deny Price and another to cut out a cross.
Then Putterill cleared off the line. Expect LOTS of added time - plenty of players needing treatment this half |
Re: Bradford Thread
yeh but at least it won't be "Fergy" time.:D
|
Re: Bradford Thread
I don't think Tony Bates is going to remember his trip to Bradford fondly - EVERY time the ref makes a decision 10000 people jeer him!
|
Re: Bradford Thread
would that be Master Bates?:D

Re: Bradford Thread
To summarise:
A good first half, a deserved lead, a slightly dodgy Bradford goal and then Stanley on the back foot. Coley - ASFC News Story > 3722 Not happy! Bye all |
Re: Bradford Thread
Bye Dan thanks
|
Re: Bradford Thread
I would have taken a point before the game, but after our dominance in the first half, when we could easily have been 2 or 3 goals to the good, it feels like a missed opportunity. We played some great stuff before half time, but lost our way in the seond half when the inevitable pressure came from Bradford and we struggled to keep possession and lost our midfield composure. In the end we were a bit lucky to come away with a point, but over the whole game were worthy of it. 20 quid to get in or 14 for concessions was a sickener, and 3.30 for a can of ale a no no for me. Good support again from what's left of the Ultras, much appreciated at the end by the players and management duo. A good away night, but I can't help thinking of what might have been if Ray had done better with three good shooting opportunities.
|
Re: Bradford Thread
Another valuble point and keeps it moving in the right direction while meaning the revival run continues of four games unbeaten:)
|
Re: Bradford Thread
Fair result. thought mom was Long played well and got stuck in. Good first half but Bradford worked harder in the second. Point better than nothing but we need to be getting up that table.

Re: Bradford Thread
I think redraine pretty much summed the game up , and on bradfords forum they were complaining that we were made to look like brazil in the first half.
Funniest part of the match ( not very professional tho !) was when deano went down injured in front of there fans, after getting booed for ten seconds he suddenly flipped and turned and told them to f--k off ! and 2000 fans jumped up at the same time. In a split second the ultras started singing "deanos goin to t--t up ! as i said not profssional but very funny and witty. They went berserk when he run back on - was it something to do with them getting a head of steam up and we slowed them down ? mmmm possibly lol |
Re: Bradford Thread
should have read " deanos goin to t--t you " ! sorry ultras my typing error !
|
Re: Bradford Thread
Well a freezing night in Bradford!
Happy with a point, but what a huge club they are , how the hell they are in this league is beyond me, but I was a proud stanley man last night. Agreed Bavs timewasting was abit silly at times. Long MOM for me, superb ! Roll on Burslem, AGAIN ! |

Stanley better side in first half according to Yorkshire Post:
