He seems eager to play in the Football League, and there's no doubt that he has the ability to succeed at this level. Hopefully we'll see the best of him rather than the shadow that was here before his move to Huddersfield.

This seems a bizzare move to me, we have an abundance of midfielders

What sort of signal does this send out to the one's waiting in the wings?

I hope it works out but I would have been far more happier with a proven striker

Think about the january transfer window and who we could lose and it'll become a bit clearer to you!! This is budget cover in preparation for a january loan extension for him I think, but the loan would depend on other players moving on I should imagine :(

Thats why i welcome this loan, fer me a 100% craney is better n most of our lads, if not 100% then return to sender as elvis would have said.;) plus am thinkin probably a few of the lads are carrying knocks n if so n opportunity fer em to recover.

Todays signings are not the way forward - in my opinion!! We have more defenders and midfielders than we need, yet we have not got enough up top!!

As many have said already, it looks like we are going to be losing some of our "Gems" soon - which was not the case this time last season???

Hope that I am so, so wrong, but I do not like the feel of all this.....

Roll on round3.....;)

Each to their own but....

Welcome Back To A Legend!!!

Lets hope he adorns the Globe Arena with another "cracker at Morecambe Bay" like at Christie Park....a goal which is etched on my mind forever!!

If we can get the best outta him then he's one hell of a player, at least League 1 standard.

With Jacobsen and Craney....things are looking up.

whilst craney is an undoubted legend coming through the conference he was pretty pants when he came back on loan and it all eeks of uncomprehension and worry with our young stars who have undoubted talent as to what their role is likely to be in the forthcoming weeks. Plus also wasn't craney on a supposed £1.5k a week at Fleetwwood. Would love to know the sentiment behind this one, cos we certaintly are not going to be paying that!

cashy it was certainly purported on here along with fleetwood's other signings lest they remain nameless that they were on a significantly amount more than our lads. Are they not in competition with Crawley as to who can crash and burn first!
But tis good to have him back if we can see 'conference craney' actually saw a clip of their FA Cup game and he looked outstanding..........who bloody knows!

I suspect there might be a few less than impressed Stanley "squad" players who may now find they don't even get on the bench. I'm not convinced that will help in the long run. None of the players who have played this season have let anybody down but some seem to be getting pushed aside to put other clubs players in the shop window. In my view, the squad is now too big and that can only cause disharmony. Stanley's success has always been founded on team spirit, lose that and lose everything.

Spot on Larry. Owens, Bateson, Murphy and Turner for instance. The thing is with Craney that he always seems to impress initially with his new clubs, then fizzle out. Who could forget his second debut with us away at Bury that night when he was like a man possessed. It wasn't long before he just wasn't looking interested. Coley needs to get inside his head.

Hes obviously gone there for the money and realised that the football there is clearly not as good as the football league! Craney was always a football man until bigger things hit him and bigger wages took over his life! But he probably wants to be back playing league football no matter if he was earning that amount of money there. He was getting into the first team every game and there also on the up so its clearly not because of money.

Great signing in my opinion, great footballer.

Get real, Fleetwood are throwing money at their team this season and would appear to be doing ok. So how come they allow a player who is probably on more money than anyone at Accy and who as played most of their games go out on loan. Oh I forgot its nearly Christmas. The type of money he as earned since leaving us the first time is difficult to walk away from. The reason for him signing is not as clear cut as you think, not that I know the reason but it is not a yearning to return to the Football League. Ian's bestt fottball was played when we had Branna & Jags this allowed him freedom.

Whalley Red 26-11-2010 17:05

Re: craney toddles back again

Craney hadn't played or even been on the bench in their last four games - the last time that he played was in the first FA Cup match against Walsall.

I couldn't find any reports on him being injured, so I presume that there was a falling out with the manager and/or he suddenly found himself out of favour.

Brilliant news

We missed him the 2nd time he left despite alot oF the users on here disagreeing with me

He is quality, a Craney and Ryan centre mid will be special. Proctor deserves to be dropped, he has had a poor season thus far.

And give Craig Lindfield a run up front.

According to Fleetwood manager in the Non-League paper. Craney has had an injury and whilst he has been out their midfield has been doing well, so he has sent Craney out on loan to re-gain his fitness.

Re: craney toddles back again

So we now have a partially fit player whose non-league team apparently play better without him, and who can be recalled at 24 hours notice, but who may well replace one of our younger and more committed midfielders. Clearly not a standby for the possible replacement of Jimmy Ryan. I still think it's an odd signing.

the same Telegraph article says that he hasn't signed any contract because he hasn't offered one yet? Signs of Grant and Symes (and almost Coleman) all over again. Give him the money now (send the loan players back to free up the cash) and we would hopefully recoup it tenfold in a transfer fee. The club don't seem to give a damn because they know they'll get Bosman money for him anyway. What do we want, 100k or 400k?
