Good news or bad for Stanley ?

Do you think these new financial rules could effect the club?

BBC Sport - League agrees to new Uefa financial regulations

Anything that controls the debt in football has to be good. Ironic though that they spend a fortune holding a meeting for the Football League in Cyprus. How many Cypriot teams are in the football league ?

The wage budget being a percentage of turnover isn't a very good idea:mad:

We'd only have 8 players :p

@lancsdave, I believe it was sponsored by the Cyprus Tourist board so at no cost to FA or local clubs

There was a big discussion on it on BBC Sport

So the Cyprus Tourist Board think they should suck up to a load of people who run up millions of pounds worth of debt. I need to stop living within my means, I might get a free holiday :)

It's not all doom and gloom, another 3 people doing the Gold Bond draw every week would get it up to a full team :D

its OK for the rich clubs but at our level have a bad financial season and suddenly you cant compete for the players to lift your fortune. :(

Hasn't league 2 already had the wage cap in place for the past couple of years ?

I thought we could spend on 60% wages. Does that mean the other 40% cannot be spent paying the players mortgages/car insurance?

I'm sure Notts County found a way round it all, and you can bet your life Crawley will

The SCMP already operates in League Two at the 60% threshold, which will be reduced to 55% from the summer.

I know its relatively old news but!!!! Accrington Stanley to face new cash rules (From Lancashire Telegraph)
Quote:

Stanley have required cash from Ilyas Khan to bail them out of financial problems in each of the last two seasons and have often posted a loss in their annual accounts – losing £284,557 in their last published figures, dating back to 2008/09.
If that was 08/09 figures whats 09/10 gona be like:eek:
