Game on Saturday
Evening all.
You wouldn't guess by the username, but I'm a Bristol Rovers fan and have a little query for you guys. I was just wondering what the weather was like up your way at the moment and what the forecast is like for the next 24-36 hours or so? I don't want to sound negative and I'm sure you don't appreciate opposition fans coming on to your forum and asking questions regarding the weather! Particularly in November when the weather isn't at its worst! But, the reason I ask is because it's been bucketing down here on and off for the whole day and looks set to continue for the weekend. I'm under the impression the weather is going to be as temperamental further north in the country, so to avoid making the long trip for nothing on our minibus, I'm hoping you can let me know what the weather is like. I don't want to jinx anything, but with me being unable to get on to a computer until gone 9 tomorrow night, it's better for me to be safe than sorry! Thanks guys and good luck after Saturday! :) |
Re: Game on Saturday
Rain Forecast fer friday, but pitch in great nick, can't see a problem,
|
Re: Game on Saturday
Pitch is in top top condition this season PaccMan! Whatever weather that has been thrown at it , it has coped extremely well and has drained superb aswell! Dont worry as its not been raining the last couple of days here. The match will definitely be on, but if its raining, bring a brolly if you want to stand on the terrace.
|
Re: Game on Saturday
Forecast is good for the weekend, so the brolly shouldn't be necessary.

Re: Game on Saturday
Foregt the weather, come and make your way up to Accrington where you will be ensured a warm and friendly welcome and sent home packing minus the points (hopefully)PS there is an undercover section for away fans with seating!

Re: Game on Saturday
Thanks for your replies guys, very reassuring! I'm glad the forecasts are okay.
I must admit, we've already bought our match tickets and we're on the terrace so I'm hoping that it won't be raining during the game! Yes, not made the trip before but I'm thoroughly looking forward to it. |

I love terracing so I'm really looking forward to it. I've been fortunate enough to watch Rovers at Wembley and although that was great, I have a feeling tomorrow may just eclipse that! ;) Lancsdave, I'm more than happy for the Red lot from Bristol to get hammered tomorrow if you can sort that out for me?! What's the food like in the ground by the way? |
Re: Game on Saturday
Well the pies are good.
|
Re: Game on Saturday
100% the pitch will be fine mate, its the 1 thing that has improved beyond all recognition at our ground this season.
I can personally recommend the chips n gravy :) |
Re: Game on Saturday
May have to try a pie then! Are burgers sold too?
It's good to know you're pitch is improved and that the drainage is good - I'm sure it'll be needed much more in the next few months, so it will stand you in good stead to keep as many games on as possible. I don't suppose the away terrace generates much of an atmosphere seeing as it's uncovered? I'm sure we'll hear you guys, but we'll want to make ourselves heard too! |
Re: Game on Saturday
Avoid the burgers ;) Sawdust tastes better :D
