Another fantastic victory for the Stanley Boys. Dunbavin & Mcintyre were outstanding tonight.

Just got back home and what a performance, was well worth the two hour trip through the peak district....

Awsome performance from both the team and the ultras.... the players showed how much it meant to them at the end... promotion form...........?

I thought that last night's performance was magnificent - one of the best Stanley team performances I've seen. It would be difficult to pick a Man of the Match. The team was organised, passing was fluid, tackling superb. Toto was excellent before his injury - and should never have been booked. Tom Bender took his chance and impressed. All the agonising about Kevin Long's departure seems irrelevant.

The officials were awful.

New lad Toto had a scan after his bang on the head last night.

Thankfully just a big bang, only out for around 5 days, which I guess means he will just miss the Barnet game.

New lad looked decent yeh, reminded me of Antwi !!

Young Tom was mega when he came on, brilliant to see him get some minutes under his belt.

Just hoping Coley now has abit of faith in him and plays him next Saturday. :)

Great win last night.:alright:
New boy Toto looks good, big and strong for only 19. He did not deserve to get booked, the referee was incompetent.:cursing: At One nil he blew to award a penalty to us, we all heard his whistle from the other end of the ground ..for a foul on Procky I think, then waved play on "advantage?!" as the ball fell to one of our players!! Astonishing faux pas!! As I understand the rules when the referee blows his whistle -play stops- SIMPLE!!! He was also inconsistent..two or three fouls around the time that he booked Toto and players were given a long verbal talking to, yet Toto got booked for his first strong challenge which to me looked like a classis "block" tackle. Had we not got the second goal and Burton scored to draw or win then this would have been a seriously contentious issue. Later Toto got a bang on the head and played on in a bit of a daze for several minutes but still went up bravely for headers and into tackles. Subbed by Tom Bender who is just crackers!!.:w00t:.He is incredibly brave and puts his head into situations where most players would not even think of going!! De ja vue moment when he too got a bang on the head in our goalmouth and he stayed down for a few seconds motionless...hearts in mouths... but then got up and was OK. I think he was sensibly checking himself out ..counting floodlights to see if he was still on this planet???. Amazingly the referee warned him for attempting to waste time!! Super goal by MacIntyre and lots of good performances, especially Bavs who did two great saves in the first half to keep us in front, one on the stroke of half time.:alright::stop:
A great night out good, coach trip, excellent cask pint, Bridge Bitter, in the Great Northern pub just over the bridge. (I think I was the only Stanley fan that went in there?).:drink:
Coley and Jimmy continue their amazing magic to develop the team from nowhere. Well done too to the Ultras who outsang the home fans throughout.:theband::jimbo:

my favourite bit from the Brewers messageboard

It also is very fair in the belief that Coleman ( who I loath- he is only eclipsed on the vulgar and uncouth stakes by a certain Mr Evans. But I digress)- is a one of the better managers, who despite of being constantly deprived of his better players at almost each transfer window and working on an even tighter budget than ours ( slight dig here..) consistently produces a team that beats us- the double this year.
It is the highest form of compliment that I actually find him more annoying than Evans...well.. done.. Mr.... Coleman... we .. were .. beaten ... by ... a ..better... (organised) ... team.. tonight . ( That is SO hard to acknowledge)

Re: The 'Burton on a Friday' match thread.

nice to see from the Oxford link Mab posted that someone has acknowledged the faith shown by fans/club to a management duo when struggling to learn their trade and cope with financial restrictions. How many fan bases have campaigned to get their management team under a long term contract and how sweet it is to see results of that faith start to bloom. Would imagine that John 'n Jimmy are secretly chuffed with the relationship with fans and it all must convert to team spirit on the field as well.
This morning I'm singing " The Stanley are coming - watch out, watch out - - - ". And I haven't touched a drop = yet !
