I hate to be critical but I do think that the occasion was poorly handled. It could and should have been made into far more of an occasion on the field. All that we saw was Peter Marsden handing out gifts to a group of men while someone read out a list of names. Each player's name should have been read out at the time he was presented with his gift and then he could have acknowledged the crowd and applause before moving on to the next one. And the presentations should have been made much nearer the centre circle.

That's what i think...it should've been in the centre circle for the fans to have a better view, and announced over the tannoy as each player was presented with their gift. The only picture i've seen of the ex players so far was in yesterday's Lancs Telegraph, and they didn't bother to list them so we don't know who's who.:( Maybe there'll be more information in this weeks Observer.
