Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
The lad says people have told him its a step back, Wi friends like those, who needs enemies? The lad was in reserves up yon, He will certainly be a first teamer down here, Good to see a kid switched on n got his own mind, Well done young Liddle.;)
|
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
"We brought him in to play left back for us last year ........"
In otherwords, instead of Kevin McIntyre :p Excellent signing! Welcome back, Michael! |
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
Positive attitude speaks volumes for the lad and also the message the management are getting over to players can't be over emphasised enough.
Quality addition just keep thinking Striker wise but after seeing Marcus Carver in the youth team and then the first team he has the attributes of becoming a good striker and seems to be finding the net pre-season so maybe we already have somebody to step up? |
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
Carver looks a real talent to me.
Was massively impressed with him when he made the two appearances at the end of the season. Rumour's are he is being watched.............. Hopefully not! |
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
Fully agree on Carver.
However, I do think we still need an experienced striker, who will both help his development and share the responsibility for goals. Carver looks a much better prospect than Kurtis Guthrie, but it would be a waste if he similarly lost his confidence at the start of the season if the goals weren't coming. |

Trialist James Gray looks good he didn't play last night but I spoke to him and he said boss was saving him for Blackburn game could be a good prospect see how he goes on in next few games, he sounds confident enough, but not cocky

yes I agree Cashy we could hve found a gem, but we have been playing against poor oposition, maybe will show more on Sat against better team.
|
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
Noticed that various triallists and first team squad members are following each other on Twitter.
Not much clue as to what's happening but one of the recent Tweets from a triallist was "Decision". Adam Rundle tipped Ryan Hopper for a great future. |
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
After today would love to see Eckersley and Rundle added to the squad !
|
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
Interesting on Brian Smikle Brian Smikle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Plenty of experience which showed with his control |
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
Not convinced by Smickle..........Yet.
Great to score against Blackburn though. |
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
I think the club should be congratulated on finding a pair of socks that reached Bohan's knees :D
|
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
The bloke is a mountain !
|
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
Thought it was a good display, Toto n defence i thought were huge, a very pleasing afternoon.:) was good also someone had the common sense to allow stanley fans in clayton end, smacked to me of a desperate attempt to right a stupid decision, am sure it put quite a few off coming today, Hope whomever came up wi that idea, get there arse kicked n it never happens again.

Has anyone published yet what the crowd was for Fleetwood v Blackburn? |
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
No-one was allocated the other end, was empty, a few did make their way on it as the game progressed.
|
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
Despite the segregation issues that occurred during the week I really enjoyed the day, and im sure the club made a tidy profit.
Shame the two Riot vans where in attendance as no doubt they cost a few quid for the day :( |

Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
While we are on the subject of Mr Kean I feel I must congratulate the Rovers fans, yes they did give him some but were also goaded into some sort of reaction when the six wise monkeys marched (in step) down the front of the Clayton end if that was not a come on I don,t know what is, I feel they were employed to do a job, the trouble never arose so they tried to incite some and the fans did,nt rise to it WELL DONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

|

Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
James Gray and Tom Eckersley are still in contention. They are going on the squad golfing trip.

Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
Yes. Gray was on the trip but hasn't signed yet.

Hope he does sign, on what I'm hearing from others ............ |
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
I think we can assume Gray will be signing if he went on the golf trip.
Still looking short up front though, hopefully we can utilise the loan system for that area :) |
Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
looks a good player to me,hopfully he can blossom like Gornell did.
A good bunch of young pros is being assembled, hopefully we can hit the ground running. |

Re: Accrington Stanley Squad
On paper it is a very young squad with smatterings of experience which does worry me but I will also add that there is probably a greater balance in the squad with players who can interchange roles than we have perhaps had in previous seasons.
From the look of pre-season with shape this is now vey much Paul Cooks team and there is a real fluidity through the football I have seen so far but I still worry where the goals will come from up front or we are needing quite a few goals to come from a relatively new midfield which could be a big ask? Just looking again at the fixture list reminds me what a tough League this is for this season arguably the Club's sternest test since coming back to the Football League. Whatever it promises to be a roller coaster ride and I wish the Management and players all the best for another good season:) |

Don't want to appear churlish but, with all due respect to the lad, is this who all the secrecy was about last night? Is he the one who was on his way by plane? Or have we got more good news to look forward to today - not casting any doubts about Karl Shepherd, just not someone I've heard of & it was made to sound like we'd pulled off a real coup
