Pitch was deffo waterlogged down cowshed side Ref was out with ball at 7 ish and it wouldn,t go more than a couple of yards, I didn,t realize how much water had come down and I have never seen 2 inch of standing water on the back of the clayton end, on that note tho the pitch looked fantastic and seems to be the best draining surface we have had in a long while, if it had stopped raining so hard just a little bit sooner I think it would have been game on.

Lot of mixed messages seemed to have been around last night in the Crown nobody seemed to know what was going on with messages of game off and no another inspection, what time was was the game officially called off?

I couldn't believe it when I saw the match was postponed on Sky, you've got to have a lot of sympathy for the Rotherham fans who mad the trip

Radio Lancs broadcast match off before it was official. Both managers and ref inspected the pitch, game off but not announced over tanoid. Five mins later Rotherham team came back out on to the pitch , some of them running along cowshed side , by this time rain had stopped. There was no standing water on pitch that I could see from main entrance , it all seemed up in the air , then official announced game off. Paul Cook was not a happy bunny and very understandably.During the heavy downpour both teams were warming up and drenched.

And it was an even longer journey from Bristol!! But there was no way that the game could have been played. Watching the officials try to kick and bounce the ball by the cowshed at 7.25 made it clear that it would have been ridiculous to try to play the game. That quantity of water would not have drained off in an hour. Another photographer took photographs of Luke Joyce trying to dribble the ball in front of the main stand as the players were walking off. The ball simply stuck in the water.

I cannot understand why no-one knew what was going on. As the officials walked off, the referee made a clear gesture that the game was off - and both sets of players were called from the pitch.

Annoying, yes. Doubly annoying for those who travelled from Rotherham, yes. Tenfold annoying for anyone who travelled from Bristol, yes. But it was certainly the correct decision. We want to see Stanley play a cultured passing game with the ball on the ground - that would have been impossible last night. And it would have been dangerous.
