there was a heavy downfall an hour before kick off that probably puddled on the pitch. I set off at twenty past seven and it had just stopped. I'd have thought that had the ref waited a tad longer the rain would have drained - but there was no guarantee that the rain would hold off.

I didn't get onto the ground so cant say what condition the pitch was in, but given how well everyone keeps saying the pitch plays these days, it would seem a hasty decision.

:(:( Ref hid in his dressing room for half n hour and did'nt tell anyone or should say would'nt speak to anyone from stanley.We arrived at 5 past 7 and it had stopped raining although it had rained hard up to that point,radio lancs had given the match off before anyone at stanley new what was going on.. as for the pitch we managed to get in and have a look as Val will vouch the pitch looked playable,an 8 pm ko would have and should have been the better option imho.. a large rotherham following went home very unhappy:(:(:(

If both managers agreed then the referee would appear to have been right.

Might have agreed Dave but cooky was'nt a happy bunny about it,I was in the reseption getting the GtG stuff n the two Robs were running around to find out if game was on or not and that was at 19.30pm.
