Bavs!

Just seen on fishy site, Bavs picked up injury in training so we have brought in an emergency loan for a week - Paul Rachubka from Leeds - welcome on board lad & a hope for a speedy recovery for Bavs

cashman 01-12-2012 10:21

Re: Bavs!

Wish both well, Shame to me dawber aint getting a shot.

smudgie 01-12-2012 10:21

Re: Bavs!

Best of luck to Paul, unlucky for Bavs.

Bet young Dawber is abit gutted!

Greeny 01-12-2012 10:47

Re: Bavs!

I really feel for Bavs, gutted. Hope he's soon back in the goals where he should be. Why are we not playing Dawber or is the Leeds lad sitting on bench.

cashman 01-12-2012 10:52

Re: Bavs!

Doubt very much if Rabchuka would come to sit on the bench Greeny? that don't compute to me.

lancsdave 01-12-2012 10:55

Re: Bavs!

Rabchuka is very experienced. Dawber is inexperienced. 2nd round FA Cup game. Easy choice :)

Greeny 01-12-2012 11:46

Re: Bavs!

I hope our defence is strong today , we need it more than ever.Toto get in there but without a yellow.

smudgie 01-12-2012 16:45

Re: Bavs!

Bavs out for the rest of the season according to Leam.

What a shame if its true :( , has been his best season by far !

smobile 01-12-2012 16:55

Re: Bavs!

Absolutely Gutted for Him.

Time to Blood Dawber?

smudgie 01-12-2012 16:59

Re: Bavs!

He is only 18 ....... but looks the real deal to me.

smobile 01-12-2012 17:02

Re: Bavs!

Difficult one for Leam. On one hand, put him in the side and a few good results will fill him with confidence and he won't look back. On the other hand, If he ships a few goals it could dent his confidence and put him back a bit.

Big step up for him and a big call for Leam.

smudgie 01-12-2012 17:05

Re: Bavs!

Agreed.

Massive call.

cashman 01-12-2012 17:07

Whatever we still need another keeper in simple as.

smudgie 01-12-2012 17:10

Re: Bavs!

How did Rachubka do today cashy???

I think realistically he is the only option at the moment.

cashman 01-12-2012 17:12

Re: Bavs!

Thought he was very good, in fact best ive seen fer us fer a good while, we only got him fer a week though, says on fishy. just hope leam can sweet talk him n Leeds.

smudgie 01-12-2012 17:14

Re: Bavs!

Well he is Third choice at Leeds, so I cant see any reason why it wont be extended.

He was voted Player of season at Blackpool about 5 yrs ago, so that tells us summat i reckon.

smudgie 01-12-2012 17:19

Re: Bavs!

No doubt he has pedigree, he wouldn't have played 200 League games if he was a duffer.

I don't think Cisak is getting a game at Oldham right now. Was at Pompey, but recalled if I remember right.

Re: Bavs!

Apparently Bertrand Bossu is available for a triumphant return!

Reamer 01-12-2012 18:57

Re: Bavs!

Rachubka was massive for us today , without him we'd have slipped to a heavy defeat. Accy defence (Liddle excepted who played his best game for some time) was very poor and cannot hold their game together at the minute

Disagree Clark saved Oxford a real paggering in the first 45 mins to me, Both keepers were great today. Toto was away wi the fairies again to me.

Cisak is back in for Oldham.

Time for Eckersley to get a chance????

Reamer 01-12-2012 23:39

Re: Bavs!

You would think that Eckersley deserves a go, given the chances that Toto has been given and blown

Woops! nice swerve by smudgie from Bavs thread

Don't recall a 'real Paggering', Cashy, although during a bright start by Stanley , their keeper made a good stop from a glancing header (by whom, didn't catch the player , Amond?) and Boco had a good attempt that hit the bar. Other than that our stand in had absolutely no chance with their first and a few crosses to collect. Second half he made three or four top class saves and a couple of routine saves that a less experienced keeper could well have made a mess of. Overall would agree with his nom as MOM. Had no chance with goals and is probably wondering where our defence went. If Bavs is out for a while and we can keep this fellow I shall be well 'appy

Was a couple of good stops from headers off Amond n i think Murph? If yeh include Bocos that hit bar n Linneys goal,4 at half times a paggering to me mate.;)

Re: Bavs!

According to Leam as the transfer window is closed we can only renew for another 7 days !!

Looks like young Dawber will get his chance :)

bertrand bossu and david james are they not the same person

lancsmatt 04-12-2012 11:43

Re: Bavs!

David James is at Bournemouth now isn't he?
And for the 7 day rule, I think as its an emergency loan you can keep renewing every 7 days for the duration of December.
He is well out in the cold at Leeds though, his last appearance was over a year ago and he had such a 'mare that he got subbed at half time for a 17 year old when they were 3-0 down at home, so he's arguably their 4th choice, and I don't think the fans there would want to see him back in so fingers crossed it works to our advantage!
Was speaking to one of his old managers about him after that game, and he was saying he is very much a confidence keeper, loads of ability but if he starts off badly in a season/club etc etc then he finds it hard to bounce back, so the excellent start with us is certainly a good sign if we can keep hold of him!

From the BBC Sports website;

Accrington Stanley goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin will have shoulder surgery on Thursday, which is expected to keep him out for the rest of the season.

Dunbavin, 32, has been an ever-present in League Two this season.

"It's a blow because he's been fantastic this year. I think he's been having the best year of his career," said manager Leam Richardson.

Good luck for the surgery Ian .............. and hope you're back sooner than we're led to think! You've been fantastic all season, and this is cruel beyond measure ............. :(

Keep the Faith! :)

All the best to Mr. Dunbavin; hope the surgeon's hands are as steady as his patient's.

Meanwhile, Mr. Rachubka is with Stanley for another week at least.

He's been on Twitter in the last hour saying he's okay but expecting to stay in hospital over night. Surgeon found more damage than he was expecting, but really pleased with how the repairs went.

We can only hope he has a good recovery and comes back fitter and stronger.

Hope the op went well Ian. Concentrate on getting fit for next season. Steady does it for your recovery. Of course you will be missed as you have been at your very best this season. Best wishes.

I dont see what the problem is, can he not play with just one arm? I've been told that some games he has kept us in it single-handedly ...
