As I said earlier in the thread it was their left back who committed the foul Davids got the second booking for. Ref had a shocker - linesman was worse though he had a clear view of it and didnt tell the ref!

Point I was making is who the hell could he be mistaken for?

Was Terence Trent Darby playing left back?

With the standard of officials in Div 2, wouldn't shock me if twas a 3Ft white midget that commited the offence.:D Can someone tell me "WHY" if these clowns are bombed outa the premiership, They are then "Good Enough" fer the lower divisions? That to me is n insult to the lower clubs,:(

It wasn't the wrong man. Davids had his back to the ref and lifted his knee. It happened right in front of me.

He lost the appeal:
Davids' red card appeal turned down (From Times Series)

... but got lost of deserved publicity for sending the team bus back to pick up stranded supporters on the M6 after the match:

well i hope transport police got footage of an overfull bus ....

seriously though, stories like these, and players having a whip round for supporters lager, are what makes lower league football special.
