Ignore Townsend. I mean Wilson! I'm fast losing it.

Glad I’m not on my own on that one Red As for contracts/ retained I would just like to say “LEAM GOOD LUCK AND BIG THANK YOU” Who would want to be a manager of a team like Stanley, at the end of the season you fight for survival, next you lose your best players then you have to look for new available players to start the new season, what tremendous pressure is put on our manager |
Re: Contracts /retained for next season.
As others have said, sadly we'll no doubt have to wait till other clubs have picked over our bones before we can look for signatures to contracts. Fact of life, a footballer's career is short and can't blame anyone of them for maximising their opportunities. Just so long as we have Leam under a decent contract and we the Stanley family back him 100%, unlike some muppet clubs who desert their manager when things get tough. Would not like to be in the trenches with those of that weak-knee'd attitude. Things are always likely to be a struggle at little ol' Stanley but letting Leam be confident in the fans' backing despite periods of bleak results can only but be a force in continuing to punch above our weight. Bookies fav for the drop again next term no doubt, but do we care - we are the mighty Stanley.

Re: Contracts /retained for next season.
That list seems about right to me, If only...............

Re: Contracts /retained for next season.
There will be lots of fresh talent and seasoned pro's out of contract this summer; lets hope Leam picks up a few who are hungry and can take us places.

Re: Contracts /retained for next season.
Leam will already have targets in mind, but can't disagree with any of smudgies comments (which is unusual for me !!!)

Re: Contracts /retained for next season.
If Moly and Linganzi somehow stay then Leam should get the freedom of the borough. Please God make this happen!!! :)

Re: Contracts /retained for next season.
After the initial euphoria of our survival battle, yes, the question of summer changes has to be considered once again!!?? I really hope that this squad, that we have seen start to really develop in the last ten matches or so, can be kept intact. It was disastrous two seasons ago to see the heart totally ripped out of our "play off" squad. Leam and the staff will do all that they can to keep this team together for the benefit of Stanley but of course if heads get turned by bigger clubs offering more money, then he cannot stand in their way..that's life in the world of football I suppose!!
I would just like the current players to ponder on the relative success or otherwise of those lads from two years ago who left us for "greener pastures". Hmmm....:rolleyes:I wonder if some of them wish that they had stuck with the Stanley???? Stick with the Stanley guys and continue to be part of our historical journey. :mosher: ON STANLEY ON:jimbo: |
Re: Contracts /retained for next season.
Hope the board can see that the money Moly has saved us with his wonder goals is worth incentivising his new contract. Hopefully we can show some ambition and offer a couple of two year deals.
I know why the club doesn't often do this as we often take gambles on young players but for ones that have already proven their worth...why not? At the very least it ensures we get a few more pennies should they be poached. |
Re: Contracts /retained for next season.
Not going to get carried away as it is out of our hands
The Squad has proved it's worth of that there is no doubt and there are players within it who would walk into most teams in League Two & higher but it boils down to the playing budget & balancing it? We may have to be patient and see how it unfurls and if the worst should happen and it becomes a rebuilding job I have every faith that Leam will take Stanley forward as his signings have proved since he had a bit of space to manoeuvre in the transfer market.:) |
Re: Contracts /retained for next season.
Linganzi, the Yaya toure of league two !!,can't see him here next season, indeed he's far better than anyone in Blackburns first team !!,what he was doing playing for Acci will be a mystery, real top drawer IMHO
