If you ring the friendly staff we'll attempt to find solutions to all things "retail" or even call down during office hours.

On online retail store was very "labour intesive" for a number of reasons. Over the close season it was causing more problems than sales so we have closed it.

The new commercial staff I suspect will be tasked with "solutions"

Official EBay Shop a possible solution short term?

Re: merchandise

It's fair to say the retail side will take a bit of getting back up to speed. It is very labour intensive and there are a few of us now working on finding solutions.

We have put around 6 new lines of clothing in the shop recently and these will be added to, the arrival of the kit will make the place look far better than it has for a while.

I can think of a few short term ways of dealing with the online issue but a permanent method needs proper planning.

Things are happening :)

Football league club without an online shop. Jeez. , embarrassing! Was going to buy a shirt but i think il leave it! Last time I nipped to the shop during office hours i was met by nothing but a ball of straw whistling down the carpark! Sad state of affairs down at the ground!

For once I can agree with C'mon on something! :) We were over the other week, went to the shop before the game to pick up tickets & do a bit of shopping, a new club shirt, a polo or two, maybe a hoody, what did I come away with? Well none of the above sadly, despite the friendliness of the lads in the shop & the assurances there'd be kit in by "next week". I went away with money in my pocket that I'm sure the club could've better used.

And the advice to check the website for updates didn't really fill me with optimism either, I've been doing that for a few months now without any real hope or joy. As C'mon points out "People away from the area" & I think my residence here in Germany fits that description aptly are reliant on a functioning on-line ordering & dispatching service. So I'd assume getting things up & running should take on a tad more urgency, as every day the site is down is another day of potential lost sales or in extreme cases a loss of customers.

Bit confused about the polo's. Did you not like the ones that were in or just didn't have them in the right size ?. Hoodies are due to go in next couple of weeks. We decided that as were enjoying the long hot summer the urgency wasn't quite the same, must be colder in Germany :).

Out of curiosity, how important is it to people that club merchandise clothing is the branded 'kit' supplier merchandise, or are people happy to have the club's own badged clothing? ( I'll ignore the impending comments about just having something to buy in the first place would help ;) )

As an exile, I always try to buy something from the shop when in Accie, and my main purpose is to give some money to the club. It's the club's name and badge that's important to me, not the name of some other 'brand' (which you can see on plenty of 'rivals').

Sizes mainly Dave, plus differentiating between male/female fits. As to branding if the quality is good enough (and from your good self it normally is), club branding will do it for me, can't speak for other folk though. :)

Female fits is one thing Keil has mentioned, don't think there is anything in the shop that is female specific so it is something we will be sorting. We do try and make sure all sizes are covered before each game but for other reasons these slipped before the last game.

Yes I do know I'm using the words 'will be' a lot :D

I'm not bothered about branded kit supplier gear as long as it is decent and reasonably priced.

I would agree with the need for an online outlet to see what is available especially if I'm dropping hints about birthdays, which is past now and was a big one but no Accy pressies, and christmas.

There has been a lack in recent seasons of good quality, well designed casual wear for Stanley fans. I don't care much for replica players shirts - especially not samurai stuff - and know many Stanley fans my age who are the same. I'll try and find some examples.

See Everton's mens fashion range - something along those lines.

Thanks for that, it's interesting to see what passes as football club merchandise. If you take the Everton off it then asked 100 people what it is I reckon 100 of them would not associate it with Everton.

I'll look in to trialing somethings like this

I have no interest whatsoever in manufacturer branding.

Very much like deeayess, a significant birthday is almost upon me and the family have bemoaned the absence of an online store. It's good to hear that its return is not too far away.

Decent hoodys would be nice!!

I got one of the black ones last season with the red writing on. One wash and it was ruined as all the colour came off the writing and ruined the hoody. As we don't live near Accrington we couldn't take it back within so many days. So I have a hoody I can't wear. And I love my hoodys, I wear my red Accy one all the time!

I do like both the Samurai sportswear in fact the training tops from when we moved to them two years ago are still in as good condition as when they were new but we never seemed to have enough choice in various things with them.

I also don't mind the Stanley Branded stuff either the white training top with red flash on the sleeves that Dave has produced for the shop are very good likewise the one's the players wore during warm up before the Rochdale game, the black hats with red trim and the crest on the front are certainly the best I have worn.

So for me it's all about a decent mix and certainly don't mind perhaps having to wait a week or two for items if I want them and perhaps there not in stock.

It is a balancing act with the online stuff but even perhaps if somebody was employed one day a week with a list of orders to send out and can handle a few emails answering fans requests it would be better than nothing surely?

The Beauty of Dave being a Local Supplier is his reaction time will be quicker than most, can react to certain thing that may happen "Passion Overcomes Logic" willing to do on a sale or return and gives Stanley a presence in the heart of where they should be in the Town wish I had Suppliers like that.

The next lesson to learn is know you market what sells and what doesn't surely there must be an inventory somewhere at the Club on the C360 would be the most obvious?

Also if you buying something from the other side of the World for Stock know your lead times or maybe just stick to stock items?

Also no minimum order quantities and freight charges kept to a minimum

Procurement lesson for today:cool:

on the line of what Shakey was on about, the last time I got involved with merchandise one item I never got around to doing, but was next on the list to look at, was some kind of formal shirts with a club crest stitched onto it - but in the same colour as the shirt. That way it is emblazoned but not 'in yer face' and can be worn out on a Friday night. If I remember right Rovers did one at the time, but probably quite a few do them as well.

This from a couple of years back was what I was after, but then with all the hooha with Lew, the line disappeared into the ether, I managed luckily to get a smallish one for Marion.

Black-metal zipper- metal eyelets for the hood drawcord- fairly thickish material-Crest stitched in picked out in silver & black. As to label, it's inside on the right hand side (looking from the front) at the seam about a third of the way up the body from the base, all I can make out is "Wrap", printed over a globe. :)

Wrap is actually an organisation thingymyjig for ethical production. Looks to me like the are what they call un-tagged, which means anybody can sell them as their own brand.

From Daves description I was thrown by the metal eyelets in the hood, most hoodies don't have them. Anyway I found one of our suppliers who does :)

Re: merchandise

I used the online shop. Very easy to use and pay via PayPal. Options to collect (free), uk delivery (4 pounds) or foreign delivery (8pound) which will be useful for our out of town fans.
By comparison Bayern Munich charge 18euro postage -about 15quid. But they do have a slightly bigger range in case you want a Bastian schweinsteiger lampshade or a frank ribery duvet cover.

Now I am counting on royal mail..... gulp!

Blimey I thought postal prices in this country were a rip off !!

The Stanley club shop will never be a Man Utd superstore, very diificult to buy things without stupid minimum orders which Stanley would never sell enough of. We are going to promote more of the online stuff which we can get when people order and the club don't need to stock and have money tied up in various items.

Might be an idea to come up with some ideas;

The Accrington Stanley jigsaw, which of course will have a few pieces missing :)

Peter Murphy Alarm Clock, always wakes you up after 91 minutes shouting 'Goal'

Accrington Stanley calender where every week will be next week :) ( Actually there is a calender due in this week, better check it first :D )

James Beattie Designer Range of clothing

Giftprint are in Peel St, where the bus station is, or as we normally tell people, next door but one to the bogs :D

Re: merchandise

Milk advert baby grows and kids t-shirts. I know its clichéd but it the kind of thing that sells.

Retro t-shirts (red with white trim etc.) With legends numbers and names on the back.

Stanley dressing gowns in various sizes.

Pyjamas - red bottoms, red/white t shirt, club badge. Keep it simple.

I still love our stanley bath towels.

I'll have a think about some other stuff lol

Re: merchandise

The online delivery arrived yesterday, really pleased with it. Good quality, prompt delivery, just as advertised and a good fit.
Ready to wear tomorrow on clayton end. I'll be the one in the stanley onesie complete with Stanley cufflinks! :-)
Actually I got a very smart hoodie which I will be proud to wear tomorrow and through the rest of the (festive) season.
Ten out of ten to the merchandising team, people are always quick to offer criticism but I can only say it's been great service.

On Stanley!!

Thanks for the compliment. It's been a busy week on the old interwebby shop, slightly behind at the moment but will catch up over the weekend. Won't always get it right and I'm sure somebody will tell us when we don't :D Either way all feedback is welcome :alright:

There's always one who wants better than what the plan is, how about both of them, Messi on a free and then offer the full asking price of 200 million for Kayode ?
