George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
From the fishy.....
New signing....Free agent......11 goals in 59 for Walsall.....Positive move!! Welcome on board George !! see link: ASFC News Story > 5705 |
Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
A first class acquisition ,I can feel 3 points tomorrow !
|
Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
Positive news,
but why is the club website still advertising fans Friday vs Dagenham? BTW, he does have a reputation from his Walsall days of being lazy and having a bad attitude. Although some of that may have been him thinking he had made it - his downturn coincided with him signing a pro-deal. Wouldn't be the first youngster to think he was Gods gift to football. |
Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
Good news.
In related news, Franny Jeffers is off to Brunei:DPMM FC trial for former Arsenal forward Francis Jeffers |
Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
:cool:All subject to "international clearance"!!
Now where's that password!! |
Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
Would rather have seen us sign a 6'4" 'hammer-thrower' but welcome Mr B please bring some goals in your kitbag

Read the following article from about halfway down......just goes to show Davo that you really do talk from your nether regions...... BBC Sport - Walsall's youthful football winning fans and awards I particularly noted the following snippets from that article: Quote: "George is a natural finisher, who will stay out after training for hour after hour, working the keepers," added Smith. AND Quote: "There is an infectious enthusiasm and obvious desire to succeed about Bowerman, who was used as an impact player last season but worked hard over the summer to improve his game, putting in extra training sessions and hiring a personal trainer. After training on Thursday he was heading straight to the gym for an extra weights session." Sounds a lazy so and so doesn't he Davo !!! |
Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
Looks like a good addition.
If he's banged half a dozen in this side of Christmas, then lets extend the deal until summer 2015, otherwise he will just end up being another lost soul we've rescued and then sodded off somewhere else for FA. |
Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
Could be just what we need. So long as JB tells Joyce and Murphy to "Feed the monkey"!
|
Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
Like the sound of this bloke..as I tell my 'kids' season after season,'You don't have to blast in a goal, simply pass it into the back of the net'.
Welcome GEORGE. |

However, like everyone else I wish him well and hope that his skills are put to good use !. |

Hope he is the cavalry that we have been waiting for.

Of my Walsall supporting friend and here as well on the main Walsall forum upthesaddlers.com ? View topic - george bowerman leaving and http://www.upthesaddlers.com/bb/view...erman#p1048658 But how can hundreds of Walsall fans be right, your imagination must be right Carpon? Now repeat what that forum says back to me, I want to make sure you understand |
Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
It's nothing to do with imagination Davo...... I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt and the chance to prove themselves before I hang them out to dry.:o
And I wouldn't take the word of a few cretins who post on a website....after all....every website has them.....what some of them know about football would fit on the back of a 1st class stamp  |

On this occasion I must say in his defence that the use of the word Cretin to describe another human being is both derogatory and demeaning and well below the standards which one hopes will regulate the contents of posts on our Forum. (n.b. Cretin...A person who is physically deformed and has learning difficulties because of congenital thyroid deficiency.) |

Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
Sorry for breaking the love in about a new signing and explaining why he didn't make it at Walsall and what the majority of fans thought of him.
BTW, have any of you researched why he didn't last long at Woking? Look into it. |
Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
:) He Just needs a bit of Stanley TLC and a sence of belonging to somethink special :)

Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
Love it Mab. Give the lad a few games and then we'll make our own minds up. Lots of effort, a few goals and he do.

Our current ponder is 'Why is it OK for some young, good looking FL2 chaps when a goal is scored, to kiss and fondle each others bodies with gay abandon on the Soccer pitch ?'... which never happened when we were lads !...but Heigh Ho !. accueillir de nouveau !.. as we say in t'Valley. |

Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
To be honest had never heard of this young lad Bowerman, But to me its obvious to all but the mentally challenged, That whatever the lad may or may not have done.? He has come aboard the Stanley wagon, despite being able to get more dosh elsewhere, So that tells me the lad is keen to learn from J.B.and on that basis alone, that will do fer me.;)

Maybe as the font of all footballing wisdom, you would care to post something credible to substantiate your argument??? By credible, I mean reliable information from a reliable and trusted source. Not the inane ramblings of a few postings on other websites or the word of mouth from a "friend in the know". If you read the link I posted, the words quoted from his former manager and the journalist who wrote the article, are totally contrary to all you suggest. If you read the article on the fishy...it seems several clubs wanted his signature and a move to the Scottish Premier League was scuppered by "red tape". If he, as you suppose, has a "reputation for being lazy", why would his signature be sought after??? Prove your argument with some credible and believable factual information....... Or as per, you are talking a load of garbage. |

Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
the interesting thing for mě from this signing, is whether BT has abandoned his penchant for background checks and signing only 'nice lads'?
|
Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
Carpon gives more credit to an article written by 1 person instead of the opinion of hundreds of Walsall fans.
Im with you Carpon. In other news, Carpon believes the world is flat because he read it in one article despite the opinions of hundreds of other people! |

from what a saw of george today, i can't wait for him to get matchfit,
|
Re: George Bowerman.....More Firepower !!
teabag
I never questioned his ability, I simply made some factual statements about why he didn't make it at Walsall and ask fans to investigate for themselves why he left Woking. Clearly Im a terrible person for reporting what Walsall fans though of one of their own home grown players. Then again, some of our fans think 2 wins in 14 games is excellent so I will say no more. |

As for young George, in the short time he was involved in the game his running off the ball and sure control of it, could not fail to impress !. I'm almost sure that he had a part to play in setting up Murphy's welcome winner. My verdict.....I think he'll do !!. |
