Positive news,
but why is the club website still advertising fans Friday vs Dagenham?

BTW, he does have a reputation from his Walsall days of being lazy and having a bad attitude.
Although some of that may have been him thinking he had made it - his downturn coincided with him signing a pro-deal.
Wouldn't be the first youngster to think he was Gods gift to football.

You really are a glass half empty type aren't you !!! Where did you glean that load of garbage from???

Read the following article from about halfway down......just goes to show Davo that you really do talk from your nether regions......

BBC Sport - Walsall's youthful football winning fans and awards

I particularly noted the following snippets from that article:

Quote: "George is a natural finisher, who will stay out after training for hour after hour, working the keepers," added Smith.

AND

Quote: "There is an infectious enthusiasm and obvious desire to succeed about Bowerman, who was used as an impact player last season but worked hard over the summer to improve his game, putting in extra training sessions and hiring a personal trainer. After training on Thursday he was heading straight to the gym for an extra weights session."

Sounds a lazy so and so doesn't he Davo !!!

Looks like a good addition.

If he's banged half a dozen in this side of Christmas, then lets extend the deal until summer 2015, otherwise he will just end up being another lost soul we've rescued and then sodded off somewhere else for FA.

Welcome GEORGE.

On a more cautious note KJ, I hope that the optimism being shared in this thread will not prove to be misplaced, as I am yet to be convinced regarding the quality of one or two of JB's 'stand-out' acquisitions.
However, like everyone else I wish him well and hope that his skills are put to good use !.

Although Dav is contentious and to many, including myself on occasions, a real blot on the landscape, he is as we have all agreed entitled to his opinions and to air them on this Forum.
On this occasion I must say in his defence that the use of the word Cretin to describe another human being is both derogatory and demeaning and well below the standards which one hopes will regulate the contents of posts on our Forum.

(n.b. Cretin...
A person who is physically deformed and has learning difficulties because of congenital thyroid deficiency.)

But haven't you found that one can ponder too much and find oneself not pondering about the subject which was being so earnestly pondered over in the first place....Alfred.E. and I do it all the time !.
Our current ponder is 'Why is it OK for some young, good looking FL2 chaps when a goal is scored, to kiss and fondle each others bodies with gay abandon on the Soccer pitch ?'... which never happened when we were lads !...but Heigh Ho !.

I've researched the Woking element, looking on numerous websites and, other than seeing he only played two games for them , I can't seem to find any reason why he left them??

Maybe as the font of all footballing wisdom, you would care to post something credible to substantiate your argument???

By credible, I mean reliable information from a reliable and trusted source. Not the inane ramblings of a few postings on other websites or the word of mouth from a "friend in the know".

If you read the link I posted, the words quoted from his former manager and the journalist who wrote the article, are totally contrary to all you suggest.

If you read the article on the fishy...it seems several clubs wanted his signature and a move to the Scottish Premier League was scuppered by "red tape".

If he, as you suppose, has a "reputation for being lazy", why would his signature be sought after???

Prove your argument with some credible and believable factual information.......

Or as per, you are talking a load of garbage.

I never questioned his ability, I simply made some factual statements about why he didn't make it at Walsall and ask fans to investigate for themselves why he left Woking.

Clearly Im a terrible person for reporting what Walsall fans though of one of their own home grown players.

Then again, some of our fans think 2 wins in 14 games is excellent so I will say no more.

Sshhhhhhhh !... or the piscine puns will rise to the surface yet again !!.

As for young George, in the short time he was involved in the game his running off the ball and sure control of it, could not fail to impress !.
I'm almost sure that he had a part to play in setting up Murphy's welcome winner.
