New scarfs
2 Attachment(s)
Hello all,
As part of our new design for the club scarf we are looking for your feedback. What would you like to see? What colours? Town crest or club crest? There are many ideas being played with but of course fans feed back is what we are looking at taking into account I have attached the few designs that have been looked at as per the supplier. And also have my own idea to include going forward Look forward to hearing from everyone and ideas to make myself and lancsdave think again |
Re: New scarfs
My pref. is the black trim with the Stanley crest.
|
Re: New scarfs
Ooh, any of the Pink ones, they're proper lush! :D
But being a Bloke, I'd go with Ossy Kids choice too. :) |
Re: New scarfs
They all look excellent. However I'd rather see a line of merchandise that sees us "since 1891" thus considering us a continuation of the old Stanley. The same club with the same spirit.
We celebrated our centenary in 1991 so the 125th celebrations aren't too far away. :) |
Re: New scarfs
Given the 'town' crest is within the club badge, and we are supporting Stanley and not the Council, I think it has to be the club badge from now on.
As for colours, I also think the black fringe looks good, but am not sure that "since 1968", although administratively correct, would be understood by those not steeped in Stanley lore. |
Re: New scarfs
I prefer B1 - the middle one with the town crest and just Accrington Stanley
|
Re: New scarfs
The 4th one down of the red scarfs is my choice.
Classy and simple |
Re: New scarfs
black fringe, with Crown Ground on and the Stanley crest.
I didn't agree with the changing of the club crest when it was done, and still don't like it, but we're stuck with it and it has to be used every time. As for the 1968 bit, our 'date of birth' is changed to suit whichever tale we are telling so leave it anonymous! And personally speaking we should bring out a new scarf every season with the new shirts, both are like the rings on a tree and help to date particular seasons for whatever memory - so I hope we aren't getting one in December and one in August because its bad enough that we change shirts mid season without doing that as well! |
Re: New scarfs
Can I be fussy and say B1, but with the black trim. I think the black trim looks really well.
To be honest, I would buy any of them should they go on sale. A scarf is the easiest way to show your support and also the most cost efficient. A lot of people can't afford a shirt every season. Well Done all - looks like progress to me. |
Re: New scarfs
B or C but like others, with black end thingys..
|
Re: New scarfs
My choice would be B but with black trim.
|
Re: New scarfs
my choices would be B or C both with black trim, and on the pink ones the same designs but with the pink trim. We have to use the club crest really not the town one.
|
Re: New scarfs
B is my favourite. The pink ones are brilliant!!
|
Re: New scarfs
It would be c for me, as will always be the Crown Ground, our current home...... until we get out new super 6,000 capacity sitting and standing super stadium.....come on those big money balls........
|
Re: New scarfs
A1 Looks the most effective to me
|
Re: New scarfs
for me, it must be red. and I like the "since 1968", it makes us seem sooooo modern.
Not keen on the pink ones, meself |
Re: New scarfs
B1 for me please, I know we play at the Crown Ground (Store First Stadium) and I know we reformed in 1968. Keep it simple, Name and club crest with black fringes
|
Re: New scarfs
I'd prefer us to distance ourselves from the since 1968 tag,and the old club crest. Why give credence to the ones who say we were not original members of the Football League(even though technically we weren't ;))? To the outsiders Stanley were there when it all started, then to tell them that we've only been going 40 odd years kind of pops their bubble! As for the old club crest it isn't half as recognisable as the new one!
|
Re: New scarfs
A or B2 for me
|
Re: New scarfs
B with black fringe!
|
Re: New scarfs
C for me I think, would look good with a black trim on it too ..... sorry, but for me personally the pink ones are a big no-no, I wear my Stanley scarf to show my colours & would definately not wear a pink one just cos I'm female

Re: New scarfs
Quick update on this. The new scarf is expected in this Friday. I'll get a picture up later.

Re: New scarfs
I don't understand why you would want to celebrate and publicise the club went bust for 6 years?
BTW, love the bar scarf. |
Re: New scarfs
It's not celebrating that the club "went bust for six years" (actually, it was five).
It's celebrating the fact that against all the odds like having no ground, no team and no money and in the face of massive public indifference, Jack Barrett and a few other dedicated men had the spirit and loyalty to start the club again from scratch. |

Re: New scarfs
Can't beat the conference scarves for me, great material and traditional looking!
Don't like this one for some reason, I agree with Dave in a way and also Wynonie . In my view as a Stanley fan we all know what happened from 68 and also what happened before that! Do we need it on a scarf? Can we not remember it from the chants and also the great naming of the main stand for jack ? Anyway, good idea of a scarf but il keep with my oldie! |

Re: New scarfs
Scarf is now online.
No doubt you will spot the badge is the 'old style'. I'm afraid the new badge isn't possible to print in to these type of scarves. As it happens because it's a tribute scarf the old badge is wholly appropriate. Accrington Stanley Spirit Of 68 Scarf - Accrington Stanley FC |
