Jeffers on his way to Bury?

Francis Jeffers' journey from Arsenal and England to Bury | Mail Online

From almost invincible to almost invisible... An £8m Arsenal striker and goalscoring England international, now Jeffers is plying his trade with Bury in League Two

Although somewhat portly, he scored a hat trick for Fleetwood against t'Stanley last season

If memory serves me right, t'was Jon Parkin who scored the hat trick.

I remember reading similar articles when he signed for us, but the theme seemed to be a little bit more 'hard luck'. The undercurrent here reads more like they are ridiculing him for a wasted career.

I can only really echo that. Whilst here I thought he looked good in his cameo appearances but injury again limited his appearances (four starts and 3 subs), most of us will probably never know the ins and outs of why he didn't sign for us this year but for the sanity of his career he really should have done. If money was the motivator then fair play to him because he hasn't long left in the game and needs to earn some wage packets. I'll guess that we wanted to offer a pay as you play deal knowing that he is a crock ...

We wuz there .... Was Parkin. What is it with us and ..... Erm ..... Well-built strikers? You only have to think who got the other hat trick chez nous last season; our mate You Fat Bustard. :D

Quite surprised, don't wish him good luck though.

Apparently had a trial with Bury and played in a behind closed doors friendly for them.

He obviously didn't impress upon the Bury management and has promptly been given a "no thanks" by them.

What was that saying about grass being greener ??

Jeffers is about to sign for Steve Kean's new club in the Far East, Brunei DPMM.
The mind boggles!

Good luck to him playing in that heat.
Can we now file him under 'history' ?

Reading between the lines, seems it was about attitude n poor influence, as to why we never signed him? Shame was a very talented guy, if thats correct then can only say sod him n good riddance.
