Kiwi John Finally Gets His Result
It must have been memories of last season's opening day debacle :o that meant Tuesday night's narrow win over Hartlepool :) didn't cause the usual upsurge of optimism for the return to Newport - only 18 going for the win ;) compared with 12 for the draw  and 7 fearing the worst  (well 6 really as one of those was a Welsh interloper hoping for the best - all welcome ncfc1). The 6 included 5 of the Top Ten , and the 18 another 2, leaving 4 Top Ten drawmongers to make strong upward moves (yes, I do know 5 + 2 + 4 = 11, there was a tenth equal situation after Newport :D). Of these, LongLostSon (8th to 5th) and Bdc (10= to 8th) took max advantage with the max 5, while MikeA consolidated his 4th and Tommy McQueen regained top spot on countback with their 3 point hauls. The other maxis were Norwich Stanley, the biggest mover from 16th to 9th, and - at last :D:D - Kiwi John, 35th to 31st. Full table attached in two parts again so as to include all this game's entrants. So it's roll on the Shrimpers for a Friday night feast of football, hopefully. Why move a game with a potentially strong away attendance to a Friday night, I wonder? More importantly, can we keep the record intact? Yes we can!! On Stanley On!! :alright::alright::alright: |
