Why have stanley been able to keep McGuire but not the Blackburn lad? Is it down to rovers

I don't understand how he can stay. The Football league rules say "The cumulative total number of days of all Emergency Loans of one Player to the same Club may not exceed 93 days".

Maguire played at Northampton on 20th. September so surely his 93 days are up and we can't re-sign him until the transfer window re-opens?

Not really a surprise about John O'Sullivan given Rovers situation with the transfer embargo - shame but not a lot we can do about it, at least we kept one half of the duo for a bit longer

I asked O'Sullivan if it was dead in the water and he said "Who knows " and Dan said its a waiting game!

Might still be a chance yet!

I could be wrong but I think the loan window re-opened on the 21st, December.

Paperwork fairy was clever in the 1st place;;) She put Maguire on a Youth Loan (as under 21) A Youth Loan can be extended until the player reaches his 21st birthday. (Sean's case 1/5/15)

Johhno was 21 on the day he signed for his; thus coming in on an emergency loan; which as people correctly state is for a maximum of 93 days.

Simples!!!:)

Transfer and Loan window opens at mdnight on 3rd Jan. However EXISTING loans can be extended (as long as the date are contineous) whilst the "window" is closed. ie Jack Rose, Sean Maguire

Re: Maguire stays until Jan 18th.

It is good news to have Sean staying with us but it is a big loss to lose John O'Sullivan back to the Rovers. I hope that they will actually give him some game time or he might as well be turning out for us and keeping his fitness and form.
Well done to you John and good luck.
Puts a bit more pressure on Sean to up his game even more.
