David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'
From our website...
David Lloyd?s Wall of Honour ? Accrington Stanley FC As Nick has said previously, not everybody's cup of tea, but it will be for some :) :) :) :) |
Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'
This to me is just the sort of thing the club needs to engage in, to sustain viability, Lets hope its the first of many successes. Good on Lloydy.:)

Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'
I feel this is showing real initiative, lets hope groups of supporters can club together to buy a brick.I have managed to talk two golfing friends to agree to invest in a brick each....it's OK Yonman you can turn your pacemaker down you're not one of them.So lets all pull together and make this a real success.

Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'
Hopefully will be a good success!!
Would be good if we could get local junior football teams involved, Many of these clubs have under 8s to under 16s teams meaning around 125 kids. at less than £8.50 per player they could have a brick with their Football Clubs name, Something the younger kids could see when they came to a game at The Crown Ground and potentially encourage the kids to want to come to games regularly! |
Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'
Great idea by the club a thanks to bumble for fronting it
come on lets make this work for our footy club Good Luck |
Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'
Lancashire County Cricket Clubs "Red Rose Wall" was a fraction of the price.
There were a variety of tile sizes available for different budgets as well the player ones, closer to the £100 mark than the £1000. It is the same idea but LCCCs was for the foundation and not the club as a whole. There is no way I'd pay £1,000 never mind £10,000 the way the club is currently set up. If it was a fan owned club I would. |
Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'
I'm glad they are trying something like this, rather than for the United replay!
However the bit that worries me is the bit where Peter Marsden says that some of the target will go towards the squad. ANY surplus money simply has to go towards infrastructure and developing ways of making money week in, week out so that we don't have to rely on things like buy a brick. |
Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'
We need to get a big corporate sponsor, have we approached the big companies and airlines?? There must be a big company that would be happy to be associated with a club like ours. we must persist. we need big money.
|
Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'
Perhaps a Company that has almost been to the wall and recovered and is now a financial success would be interested in supporting a club that has suffered a similar past?
|
Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'
:( Link not working :( Having said that looks like its been removed of the club site as well:(

Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'

Well done to the club and SDA for addressing this early rather than previous years with Fraser Eagle going pop, Combined Stabilisation ending prematurely and don't even mention the Colane Tropical Water Fiasco. They are talking six figures for the deal, probably 3 years I would think. That's peanuts to some of these big boys - Hopefully we can get either an up and coming local firm or a decent sized national chain. |
