This to me is just the sort of thing the club needs to engage in, to sustain viability, Lets hope its the first of many successes. Good on Lloydy.:)

I feel this is showing real initiative, lets hope groups of supporters can club together to buy a brick.I have managed to talk two golfing friends to agree to invest in a brick each....it's OK Yonman you can turn your pacemaker down you're not one of them.So lets all pull together and make this a real success.

Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'

Hopefully will be a good success!!

Would be good if we could get local junior football teams involved, Many of these clubs have under 8s to under 16s teams meaning around 125 kids. at less than £8.50 per player they could have a brick with their Football Clubs name, Something the younger kids could see when they came to a game at The Crown Ground and potentially encourage the kids to want to come to games regularly!

Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'

Lancashire County Cricket Clubs "Red Rose Wall" was a fraction of the price.

There were a variety of tile sizes available for different budgets as well the player ones, closer to the £100 mark than the £1000.

It is the same idea but LCCCs was for the foundation and not the club as a whole. There is no way I'd pay £1,000 never mind £10,000 the way the club is currently set up. If it was a fan owned club I would.

Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'

I'm glad they are trying something like this, rather than for the United replay!

However the bit that worries me is the bit where Peter Marsden says that some of the target will go towards the squad. ANY surplus money simply has to go towards infrastructure and developing ways of making money week in, week out so that we don't have to rely on things like buy a brick.

We need to get a big corporate sponsor, have we approached the big companies and airlines?? There must be a big company that would be happy to be associated with a club like ours. we must persist. we need big money.

Re: David Lloyd's 'Wall of Honour'

Perhaps a Company that has almost been to the wall and recovered and is now a financial success would be interested in supporting a club that has suffered a similar past?

I did read on twitter the other day via (Scott Dawson Advertising) that the club are making a big push to find a new stadium and shirt sponsor as the deal with Store First ends at the end of this year and won't be renewed.

Well done to the club and SDA for addressing this early rather than previous years with Fraser Eagle going pop, Combined Stabilisation ending prematurely and don't even mention the Colane Tropical Water Fiasco.

They are talking six figures for the deal, probably 3 years I would think. That's peanuts to some of these big boys - Hopefully we can get either an up and coming local firm or a decent sized national chain.

In my book a guy like Murray Dawson is just the type of guy the club requires to move forward.:)

I wonder if the club can do a deal with Hanson's to supply the bricks free of charge - special edition NORI or something ?

If the neighbours who live behind the Whinney Hill 'stand' :D dug over their gardens they could probably lob a few hundred Nori specials over their back fences.

Maybe best not to ask the one who had a window of their greenhouse smashed by a stray ball during the Portsmouth game though - awkward!! :D

What do they expect erecting a greenhouse next to a League 2 ground? Did the estate agents forget to inform them about the 'shots on target' percentages?

Do I remember reading a while back that we turned away from a Stanley Tools deal because we didn't want to lose the red home strip ? Given the shirtbuttons and washers nature of our finances, do you think we should continue to be 'precious' about a red home strip should a decent deal present itself with a colour scheme condition ? Otherwise who are we left with ? Richard Branson ? Royal Mail ? Al's gents' barbershop ?

With all this talk of raising money for the club through different initiatives who at the club does somebody need to speak to if they have an idea for raising money for the club?

Would you like to enlighten all of us on here.

My idea would be turning a perceived negative into a positive. We know that there are about 1000 dedicated supporters that turn out to watch Stanley come hell or high water. Why not celebrate that through some merchandising eg T shirts, sweatshirts, car stickers that state something like

PROUD TO BE ONE OF THE THOUSAND, I KNOW ONE OF THE THOUSAND, MY DAD, GRANDAD IS ONE OF THE THOUSAND.

Just my thoughts after all the recent comments about the level of support that we have and that we need.

Is it not down to you Dave....Viability ,numbers , costs etc. I'd buy a couple of each colour at least.

Yes it is. We always sell something of everything we get done, but as with the attendance numbers, it's a hard core who buy it

Maybe any of the 1000 could place a pre order and then you would know if it was viable.

We can knock some up anyway, that's the advantage of me doing the retail. I'll put you down for 50 so you can lead by example :)
