Tranmere fans want Coleman
My mate listened to a local phone in last night, they want him if they get relegated or not, he was mentioned a few times as the ideal candidate.
They think he could get them back in the league and if they stay up he could get them in the playoffs. What annoyed him was the arrogance that Coleman would leave Stanley for Tranmere as if Tranmere where so big club. It would seem as if a few Tranmere fans haven't realised how far they have fallen and how big a deal losing league status will be. My mate said it also came across that many of them don't realise how hard it is to get out of the conference. |

Agree, Davo. Ask the fans of any former league team currently in the Conference just how difficult it is to come back. All the more reason why another year of League football is such a privilege for all Stanley fans to enjoy. Long may it continue. |
Re: Tranmere fans want Coleman
Ask the following how hard it is and was:
Luton Cambridge (both took over 5 years to get back in, 10 for the U's). Kidderminster Wrexham Bristol Rovers Grimsby Lincoln Macclesfield Stockport (Now Conf North) Boston United (Conf North) Torquay Aldershot |

Rochdale were averaging 3500 when J C & J B left us to go there, so if they are indeed wanted by Tranmere it would be no great surprise to see them go |

I think they left before because they felt they needed a new challenge. Tranmere in the Conference isn't a new challenge, even if they had 50,000 gates |

And if they don't hit the ground running and be out of a job in 6 months...Really can't see this happening!

Re: Tranmere fans want Coleman
I think Coleman may realise Stanley is a good fit and it is better to stay here for a while given past experiences.
If Coleman leaves we could be staring into the abyss "if thou gaze long into an abyss, the abyss will also gaze into thee." |
Re: Tranmere fans want Coleman
John and Jimmy are due to sign new contracts before the Mansfield game I dont see any reason why this would be any different, we need them they need us, yeh its a good combination for our footy club, long may it continue, lets look forward and be positive to the next ten years !

Re: Tranmere fans want Coleman
I was chatting to a Carlisle United fan walking back into town on Easter Monday , they too wished they had JC as manager ............. yet some Accy fans cannot appreciate what we've got !

Re: Tranmere fans want Coleman
I will be devastated if they went................ For precisely 0.1 seconds.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned one of cashman's other favourite scousers, 'The Snake'. Portsmouth want him apparently but Chesterfield have refused Mr. Cook permission to speak to them.

They have asked Gateshead for permission to speak to their manager

Re: Tranmere fans want Coleman
coley and any other manager who has got a job would be mad to go to tranmere at the moment. ex league clubs like them and stockport county require instant success or out by Christmas. it could be a hard few years for their fans, but I hope they will be back sooner than later. prefer to see them on our fixture list than barnet . probably 1000 less gate receipts.

Just what we need to round off the season, a cheeky bit of existentialist rumination !.. And here's me thinking, in my usual despairing fashion, that all the 'Coley' posts brimming over with 'love him...love him not ' arguments, critiques, and supposition were always a trifle superficial !. I venture to suggest that like myself Revived Red might well be lost in admiration for Chewbacca's cheering, if cautionary thoughts ?. As for JC himself, I hope that 1, He motivates the Reds to provide a fitting finale for the fans against Mansfield Town ....and 2. That he is able to build on the squad he has put together for the 2015/16 Season ... |
