Pitch Needs Covering ASAP

The pitch needs covering ASAP ahead of the heavy rain forecast for Saturday because if it isn't covered there will more than likely be two home games in a row postponed and no home game for at least 6 weeks which sure would be a disgrace. If the game is postponed I will have no option to post a letter to the club asking for the pitch to be covered ahead of heavy rain forecast for match days in future.

Re: Pitch Needs Covering ASAP

The only covers that the club have are frost ground sheets and are no way intended to stop rain water from getting to the pitch!! So why do you keep harping on about covering the pitch there's nothing anyone can do apart from pray for no rain..

Re: Pitch Needs Covering ASAP

So if the covers were put on the pitch, it wouldn't stop it from becoming waterlogged

Re: Pitch Needs Covering ASAP

Thought you'd have already sent your letter Somerset, can't expect the club to do as you ask if you don't ask until after the event

If I send the letter now, it's not likely to get there in time

Email them, ask them to print it out on A3 a thousand times, laminate them and stick em on the pitch.

Job done.

Re: Pitch Needs Covering ASAP

Someone on here could pass the message on to the club

So what would he say about Carlisle, who canot play a home match for at least 6 weeks due to waterloggIng! When someone can build a roof on the Wham then Somerset can be taken seriously.

Re: Pitch Needs Covering ASAP

What makes you think it will be 6 weeks before Carlisle can play a home match again?

A clue here ....

BBC Sport - Storm Desmond: Koi Carp found in Carlisle's flooded goalmouth

Obviously, a complete disgrace

Maybe that's their new defensive line-up?
Plus a conger eel up front !

I take it you've spent so much time watching the weather forecast that you've completely missed the news? ;)

There are 4 home games in the 6 weeks after the Wycombe game. Don't let your Asperger's get in the way of facts.

Actually his facts (if not opinions) are quite correct  - the last home game was Newport on 14 Nov and, if the Wycombe game is cancelled tomorrow, the next will be on Boxing Day - exactly 6 weeks later.

So his statement that postponing the Wycombe game would mean 6 weeks without a home game, which is what he meant, is actually OK.

Many thanks for that, Chimer. You have my greatest admiration in being able to get into the mind of Somerset. I do apologise for misunderstanding what he wrote.

Agree !...you know we've had nuisances like this man/woman attempting to derive some perverse pleasure from hi-jacking our Forum in the past !.
As his words are as useless as they are pitiful, we must ignore them !....and him !!.
