Normally wouldn't, but seeing a it's about Stanley I made an exception. Nothing of great import as I suspected, just your typical sweaty sock low level whinging, at least he admitted it was Stanley that gave his boy the chance.

(Must really stick in his craw that it was "they Bastert English" that gave his progeny a leg up ;))

My mistake, due to his support for the Rangers bid & his involvement with Aberdeen, I'd assumed his allegiance was with Scotland & as such a Jockeen. I stand corrected. :o

There's enough bampots up here without importing more. I still have dual nationality so I'm hedging my bets but sometimes it's hard up here these days :D

Even I stopped reading it after they failed to cover Hillsborough properly this week.

Does anybody still read newspapers? The only one I've read for years is the Accy observer when I'm down. Anything else you can get online

He wrote an X next to the story the teenage intern wrote for him.

Re: The sun

An absolute load of drivel here:

Dean Windass blasts Accrington for moaning about his son?s transfer to Rangers... and says switch is club?s fault

Which shows he has absolutely no idea of the challenges faced by our club. I hope josh doesnt take his dads advice too seriously.

Re: The sun

Says it all about Lardarse's ego that when talking about the contract we offered not being appealing enough, he puts Josh last in the list of people it wasn't good enough for after himself & Josh's agent!

Re: The sun

Does he really think that Gazza at Rangers is a role model for his son to aspire to?

Re: The sun

we are obliged to confirm to league rules about payment to players. there are other players at the club who deserve a decent wage and obviously can,t offer money that could see us break league rules on wages. is that too simple for him.

Dean Windass needs to change his name to 'Richard Head'!:p:dummy2:
'Big Money is' all that seems to count for Dad Dean!:(
He needs to take a lesson from Super Billy Kee who puts 'love of the game' and his fans FIRST!:mosher:
It has been good though that Josh has not let next season affect him as he has pulled his tripe out since his return from injury.:jimbo:
:stop:He just needs to leave his 'Speedo Diving Trunks' in the changing rooms that's all!

Re: The sun

Knowing how news outlets operate (in the case of The Sun, that's outlet as in sewage) this latest outburst from Windass Snr was probably made months ago when the issue was at its height.
Newspapers often regurgitate stories, from months and sometimes years ago, in order to try and create a response, in the hope of generating tomorrow's headlines.
Given the Sun's past history, I'm just surprised that anyone who has any connection with football would want to be associated with the rag.

Re: The sun

Disappointing this week of all times. I suspect he is trying to get some sort of publicity for himself and only the timing of this weekends game adds interest enough to worth writing what he says.

Incidentally if clubs like Stanley aren't compensated when they develop players there soon won't be as many clubs to give the likes of Josh a chance.

Re: The sun

a) even a moron like Dean Windass should realise that asking clubs like Stanley to offer ridiculous contracts is tantamount to suicide.

b) even toerag tabloid journalists should realise that asking clubs like Stanley to offer ridiculous contracts is tantamount to suicide.

c) even a school mag editor should realise that asking clubs like Stanley to offer ridiculous contracts is tantamount to suicide.

How could a story like that ever come to waste ink is beyond me and I cant believe the level of misintellect that has come to pass.

If you're reading this Josh may I advise you that you tell your dad to keep his nose out of your business from now on.

Stanley are a small fry club where players come to learn their trade. It's ideal because any Google Page Ranking faux pas will have little bearing on the rest of your life. But, if owd big nose starts upsetting your new fans then you'll soon come to realise just how harsh bitter fans can be. They'll ridicule you for everything and ruin your career. Fathers day soon, buy him a muzzle
