Coleman has surpassed the great man in spades and now his players must etch their names in the communal concrete to be remembered for all time.

Congleton has become Charlton, Stocksbridge Steels has become Sheffield United, and Whitley Bay has morphed into the Wanderers of Bolton. 224 hardy souls witnessed Coleman's first home league game, a 2-1 defeat to Trafford. Today almost 5000 will bear witness to the greatest feat that this measly town team could ever muster.

Do it for all those that have toiled for the last 48 years to give the club an identity. For Bill Parkinson, for Jack Hudson, for John Prescott, for Gordon Clarke and Jim Chamberlain, for Stan Spencer and Arthur McGilveray, for Ruth Chadwick, Steve Moore, Anthony Cox and Roy Gabryszak. Do it for Eric Whalley and do it for Jack Barrett "does this town want a football team or not".

For all those on Buzzer's green and pleasant land, do yourselves proud lads. You've done it for the last 9 months and far outstripped expectation. One last push gentlemen and we're over the hill.

For all those on the terrace, from the gut ladies and gentlemen. If you're not a singer then clap along, stamp your feet, wave your hands, twirl your scarves, just make a racket. When the moment takes you, and it will, give in and let euphoria sweep you along. This is Accrington. This is our team. This is our moment.
