If a regional split was to occur then I'd rather it was part of a nationwide overhaul of the entire game.
PL ... 18 teams
CH ... 18 teams
D1N ... 18 teams / D1S ...18 teams
D2N ... 18 team / D2S ... 18 teams

34 games per season, league matches played only on weekends, cup matches/friendlies under the lights.

agree with the 18 team prem. and championship due to gaps for the so called international breaks plus they will last longer in the cup competitions. cannot see why the regionalised leagues cannot keep 24 clubs in each division as come November a lot of clubs like Stanley have only the league to concentrate on. just my personal opinion and I,m sure others will disagree.

That wouldn't have been so bad - a weekend in Torquay while it's still summer & a not too bad a distance to travel for a Christmas fixture
