Just remember how the water vanished at half time the other week in 15 mins, i dont see how the hell the match will be in jeopardy if the forecast is right.

Somerset - what advice would you give ?

Interested Observer 17-01-2018 17:45

Re: Accy Weather

Here's a suggestion. Move back to the Spiritual Home! Peel Park FC always manage to finish their East Lancs League games even when Stanley has been abandoned. If the worst came to the worst you would always have the rather excellent Peel Park Hotel 20 metres away.

Yeah you are right I did spend sometime in that nearby schoolyard retrieving balls when one of my lads has played in goals there.

I presume that MH means 1:30 tomorrow ?.. And your starting time also has tomorrow in mind .
If this is the case then it would seem rather unfair on any Port Vale supporters who would have to leave that part of the world at an even earlier time !.
Which makes me feel that if a pitch inspection is necessary, then this must be carried out at a time which will have the interests of all supporters in mind.
( Not wishing to cast any doubt on MH's post whatsoever ! ).
Let us all hope that the covering of the pitch will be effective enough to allow what promises to be a good match to go ahead.
See you there !.

ON STANLEY!... ON TO GREATER THINGS !.

my 1.30 pitch inspection seems to have been taken seriously. its my lowest form of wit but you never know at the wham until the game actually kicks off and finishes.

Game on ref been down already says no need for an inspection.

And a great well done to all lads and lasses who took the time to cover and uncover the pitch for this game proving what a wonderful club we are!

I am getting more and more bewildered as I attempt to follow this thread and the visit/ non-visit of a referee. MH suggests that he was perhaps prevaricating with his post reporting a 1:30 inspection , whilst Andy's seems to confirm that a visit was made by a referee who made the decision that the pitch is indeed playable and the match is on !.
Friends are, as I write, offering words of consolation to me, and advising me in my paranoia
not to see this as a conspiracy theory on my behalf ,and merely an attempt to keep interested fans up to date with the Port Vale match .
AND NOW IT IS SNOWING IN SUNNY RISHTON !...

Time for my 10.00am medication methinks !...... 😉😎🤔😣😥

Re: Accy Weather

It is the ref's job to inspect the pitch every game so it still needs to be done.

As help is needed to remove the covers it is unlikely the ref has seen much of the pitch.

The slow isn't bad at the moment and it should clear up well before the game, you would imagine it isn't going to be waterlogged this week.
