From the man who said Charman was staying ?
What’s the response to Cashy’s post ? Great news about the arrivals. Hope there’s a centre forward in there. |
Re: January transfer window.
Ripley in talks with PNE according to Mr Holt on twitter................... Worrying !

Re: January transfer window.
That's a major blow if Ripley leaves.
Again you have to feel sorry for Coley because I think he chased him a long time. That's the loan market problem though you're always beholding to the parent club. Three weeks for John to weave his magic. |
Re: January transfer window.
Cashy's post worries me even more as well now because if it wasn't Ripley he was alluding to .......

On Preston's fans forum there's a rumour that they're interested in prising young Callum Johnson away from us :(

This window needs to come to a close sooner rather than later.
That would explain why he wasnt even on the bench. |

|
Re: January transfer window.
Ahh, the transfer window; another brilliant idea we owe, in part, to the EU.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transfer_window I can't help but think it was invented to entertain and employ people who aren't really that interested in football itself but like the gossip, rumour, and talk about money that now engulfs the game. It's bad enough that Stanley have to rebuild a squad every summer but twice a season is ridiculous. |
Re: January transfer window.

He is under contract. Unless any other club makes a bid that is acceptable to the club he's going nowhere. Every player has a price - even Premiership stars - and if Preston or Wigan are prepared to pay that figure then its good business for everyone. I stress business because he'll take some replacing in the next three weeks if true. If we set the fee at say £2 mill and they take the bait that's their concern. I would think that would be enough to put suitors off don't you ? If not it's good business. |
Re: January transfer window.
Dan Jewell on twitter saying Preston already had an offer for Callum turned down.
|
Re: January transfer window.
According to the Telegraph, Preston have put a bid of around 300,00 in for Callum & we've turned them down - let's hope they don't up the price enough to be seriously considered . . . . . .
|
Re: January transfer window.
As much as we don't want to lose any players, money does talk, and I think, if I am right, all monies to be re- invested in the new training ground, (haven't heard too much about that lately) and new changing rooms.
|
Re: January transfer window.
As other's have said, EVERY player in the world has a price.
If he is to go, then surely he is worth FAR more than £300k ?! |
Re: January transfer window.
Well hes gotta be at least the price of Janoi or more i would say.
|
Re: January transfer window.
Heard that Johnson had turned down a new contract in the summer he's done well hence the intrest.
|
Re: January transfer window.
Still got 18 months left, so at least that is something...
|
Re: January transfer window.
Rippers gone now wish him well, just hope no-one else does.

Re: January transfer window.
That's a body blow Cashy.
Hopefully one of those due in before Saturday is a keeper. |

We should also look at this from a players’ perspective. Come to our club with it’s unique character, a manager and coaching staff that want to play passing football, a philosophy where if you’re good enough, you’ll play in the first team, if you do well, a club that won’t stand in the way of your progression - Connor Ripley had enough about him earlier to realise, had it not been for his spell with us, he wouldn’t be at Preston now - that’s great progress for him in just 4 1/2 months. We got loads of selling points to players who want to further their careers and can now start to evidence a track record (Jackson, Donacien, Ripley) to attract the next batch in. |

Re: January transfer window.

at the moment i think we are safe from relagation this season but there is going to be a time when having to rebuild bites us and even coley will not get his signings right as all managers don,t and then we could be in the brown stuff. |

Agreed 100% |
Re: January transfer window.
Given that Clark has had an offer for some months on an extended deal and nothing announced i sense he won't. To be fair and frank to the lad, i would not blame him.
Maybe reading too much into it, i sensed a few weeks ago Coley praising his quality was an acceptance and a prelude to this window ? |
Re: January transfer window.
Agree about Clark, but after the second half display against Bury, please not as a defender :(
|
Re: January transfer window.
Tactically the weirdest move from Coley.
Could easily have moved Brown or Conneely there and brought on a midfielder. He's not a full back but does great work in front of his full back breaking up play. If we're talking second half performance let's not beat about the bush - every one of them ! Clark is with us for another season unless the club decides otherwise - provided they take up the one year option which will be astonishing if they don't. |
Re: January transfer window.
Who’d have JC’s job it must be soul destroying, if he manages to sign a decent player we lose them in the transfer windows, if we loan players who improve under his care their parent clubs recall them to use or sell, then has to search for bargains in the loan pool to replace players he’s lost and all the time knowing he will have the same problem after the next transfer window,

[QUOTE=accybeme;1222277 if we loan players who improve under his care their parent clubs recall them to use or sell,
do not mind a club recalling a player if they want to use them but its the recalling then selling em to someone else that certainly does. we put these players in the shop window and not the parent club. |

Re: January transfer window.
These two are typical Coley signings - good players who are young and hungry. It's a good opportunity for them to progress, but hopefully Stanley will benefit in a big way too. Armstrong apparently was being tracked by a number of clubs, including Portsmouth, so it'll be interesting to see what he brings to the Stanley table.

Agree T.M. but the only kinda signings we can realistically make, hope very much they turn out right fer us.

That should have happened in the checkatrade mate instead of moving Clark back. He has experience of playing there so it wouldn't be a problem to him.

Why not ? A bit of a dilemma for the club because his value is only going to reduce as the contract runs down and he's clearly interested - and who could blame him ?
It might depend on whether Coley can get a replacement in. |
Re: January transfer window.
[QUOTE=Twenty Eight;1222759 and he's clearly interested - and who could blame him ?
not really sure if he should go and thats not from the stanley point of view. first real offer from a club higher up. his wages would certainly be higher but cannot see him being more than a bench warmer at best at preston. get some more games under his belt for us and an even better offer may come along. |

He's the perennial backup keeper. He's had loads of clubs but always seems to end up as number 2. Heard we were in for a keeper from Burnley and there was me thinking it was Hart :)

I hope Janoi gets a fair run out, Piero has had very little, Ben has had a bit more. However you can not leave players on the bench and simply come on and be as match sharp despite training the same. They need match fitness. I wonder if we will get Kayden back on loan?
|
Re: January transfer window.
I wonder if Janoi is Cup tied?

Great news to have Janoi back at Stanley. He will need his confidence boosting but John and Jimmy are masters at that job! As has already been said, Janoi is versatile and can play anywhere in defence and in midfield. Athletic and mobile he was one of my all time favourites in a red shirt.Welcome home Janoi.⚽
