Re: January transfer window.

Bolton were less than pleased with the game time Connor was given.
Ihiekwe could go either way I guess.
However it seems Portsmouth want him on a permanent.

Sykes and Ben need to step up. Desperate times when andy mangan is the only other striker available.

I understand the circumstances that led to this, but need to learn the lesson of too many loans, 3 is probably around the maximum.

Yes mate he’s back at Rotherham ....... for now.
So that’s only two remaining Ripley and Barlaser.
No point exceeding five in my humble opinion. Gibson in looks like a deal done at left back.
That leaves two vacancies.
Centre half and a centre forward ?

For tomorrow Big Ben and Ross Sykes could fill one of those vacancies, but a centre forward is a bigger and longer term problem. Time for Mr. Mangan to show his stuff

Happy for Big Ben &/or Ross to be included tomorrow but Mangan? Is he really our only option up front

Well that would make more sense than playing him at left back. Who knows at centre forward, could give it a fo with Billie and attacking midfielders bombing on...... or I would like to see him as a holding midfielder, certainly in midfield.......:alright:

Today showed just how much skill & strength we've had warming the bench for 6 months.
So glad to see Big Ben back in the side adding his height & power to our attack.
His header proved to be the game changer enabling Billy to score the winner.
Sykes gave 101% for the team & made some superb last ditch tackles to prevent goals.
Thought even Mangan played well, forming a lively partnership up front with Kee.
Scotty Brown came on to add his terrier like qualities & help stop our midfield being overrun.
Great team selection from the Gaffer & well timed substitution.

Re: January transfer window.

Not sure if we can get the loan guys back, especially the lad from Rotherham who added some pace to the defence but , if not, then surely Sykes must get a chance to establish himself at CB. He's been patient and shown whenever he's been called upon that he's a team player and very capable of handling himself at L1 level. Well deserved mom against Ipswich.
The priority in Jan is to get some help for Billy up front, we're well short of options if Hall doesn't return and Zanzala banned. Very happy to see that Barlaser is here for rest of season. I just hope that Coley can find a way to add some zip to our attack that we have lost since Jackson left.
Having said that, with regard to Jackson, he was not a threat today but have to say that Ipswich gave him very little to feed on.
Hope we can hang on to our 'better' players in this window. Clark and Finley must be under scrutiny from some of the big hitters in this league.

Highly unusual for player contracts to expire in January mate.
