StanleyJosh Streaks Into The Distance

Last week, you may recall, I noted that our leader was leading without having chalked up any maxis - well he has now :o. And as he was the only one, and his closest rivals Mab and Tom D ploughed in by fearlessly and pointlessly forecasting a Stanley win against the tractor boys, there is suddenly a 5 point gap at the top of the Prediction League table. Josh's closest rival is now AccyTom18, who picked up 4 points, with Outback Ozzy's 3 leaving him a point further back.

Points win prizes, and prizes promote pragmatism it would seem, with Mab and Tom D 2 of only 6 who stayed optimistic this week. 9 of us clambered onto the fence , and 12 jumped completely over it  to register unheard of levels of disloyalty against the Men in Red. But of course they were right .....

The roll of dishonour also featured a brace of Bs, Choirboy, Ossy Kid, Stanleyhouse, Taypot, the Red Darreners and Tommy McQueen, all with 4 points, and Div3North with 3. Four of the drawmongers managed to scrape a bonus point by forecasting a Desmond, and everybody else got zilch :(.

So, roll on the Cod Army for a quick restorative bounce-back on Tuesday. And let's hope Mr Barton's typical tactics don't simplify Coley's selection problems for Saturday's game, and Coley keeps out of harm's way himself.

On Stanley On!!

P.S. If "Forte lores inaro" = "Forty lorries in a row" ....... can you translate the rest from the original Scouse?

Sorry, Chris. Too much like hard work. You'll have to 'Pas d'elle yeux Rhône que nous'.

I’ve tried that, but I always go round in circles ... no American-Indian heritage 😀
