We beat Hull and lost to Plymouth.
Seamus was sensational tonight, last few games he has definitely been more attack minded but made two outstanding tackles tonight.
Matt Butcher is one of the best midfielders in League One. More technically gifted than Barlaser and he was very good.
Opoku should have been off for a clear elbow. The ref gave a foul so must have seen something. Baffling.
Smyth very ineffective playing behind the 2 strikers.
Lacked width tonight. First few games Burgess was bombing down the wing but seems to have reigned it in more recently.
Pitch was very hard and ball bobbled horribly for a few shots.
Live and in real time I’d say Baxter was at fault for their goal but may be wrong.

Roll on Saturday. Don’t write us off just yet.

No mate I agree with your posts. My reading of the thread was we played well and should have got something out of the game. But that's not football. We have a better team this year for certain but we lack the extra quality that the better teams have in League 1. Anything we get from the next 2 games will be a bonus and let's hope we have some luck along the way. Smyth and Phillips are great additions and showed that tonight. I hope they continue to improve.
Listening to Coley's post match interview tonight it will be difficult for him to change the starting 11 on Saturday. At least he's pleased even if I'm not.....

It's a game enjoyed to be watched is football and it's about opinions I personally like Conneelly and have had a few debates at games among my fellow supporters sticking up for him in the main, but I never suggest anyone is less superior in their knowledge of the game. Your entitled to your opinion as for being the outstanding player that's your view one which I don't particularly agree with but that's football opinions are judged through the eye of the beholder, as for Stanley,s league position it doesn't lie we are doing great. And if we play like that every game we will make the playoffs.

Josh the goal wasn't Baxter,s fault more a mix up Barclay did it all right apart from the power of the header one mistake all night it happens but he wasn't the only one when marking out of 10 in a game you take everything in that's why although he had a great game Seamus made 2 or 3 errors one quite a bad pass at the back where they were on goal but fluffed it and 2 headers aimlessly into space when attacking, this isn't getting at him it's facts about the game to me Hughes had a faultless display at the back a 9 all day and Charles was a thorn in their side all night just couldn't convert another night he would have been the hero 8. This squad has been assembled yet again at a fraction of the cost of our rivals yet they excite me every game unlike some Stanley squads in years gone by they are capable in my opinion of a top 6 finish. Let's get behind them even if we can't be present.

To add to last post their keeper Paul Cooper scores a 10 faultless display if memory serves me right 5 certain goal saves, plus we hit the bar small margins could have been a walkover.

Baxter rushing out for a simple headed back pass from Ben, last minute Baxter realises he's in no mans land and shouts away. Ben in two minds. Should have been dealt with much better.
Barclay almost released his inner Sykes with the same long punt forward in the first half not working when better options available.
Not going to mention Seamus' last ditch tackle?
Hughes never a 9. Charles never an 8 in my opinion.
Pick up things differently when able to watch live than on iFollow i'm sure.

think a lot of our missed chances go back to netting 6 against the gas. we have not scored since and its funny over the years where a similar thing has happened at other clubs. its one thing about stanley is when the majority really expect a victory then they don,t provide it. saturday could be the complete opposite where only the real optimists really expect a win at sincil bank.

You're cruising along as title contenders when upstarts like Burnley & Brighton rock up at fortress Anfield & give you a metaphorical black-eye.
Poor old Jurgen! His pearly smile reduced to a rictus grin as he tries to explain the unexplainable.
Not for the first time, no-hopers wearing masks arrive at the Wham & perform a smash & grab.
After visits from lowly Gillingham, Northampton & Plymouth, we've scraped 1 point from what should have been 9.
No words of consolation will help to ease the pain of seeing your hopes slowly disappear before your eyes.
I don't want to hear how we dominated the game. How we should have scored a bagful. It's all so much hot air.
Let's face facts.... we blew it!
Perhaps we expected too much after our demolition of Bristol Rovers & Hull.
That we're punching above our weight & should be content with mid-table obscurity.
But to follow football is to chase the impossible dream, overturn all the odds & achieve success.
Every victory makes that dream seem a reality, every defeat leaves optimism crushed.
Sometimes I hate football! Today is one of those days.
But wait! What light through yonder window breaks? It is the east & Lincoln beckons.
Once more into the breach dear friends.
Let us expect the unexpected.... Come on you Reds!

Same people that would rate players 8 or 9 on a defeat but 6 or 7 when we win.

Really? Try telling Plymouth that.
I'd gladly swap our domination & 25 shots for their 37% possession & 2 shots on target if it resulted in 3 points.

On the face of it you're right and I see where you are coming from. If you have lots of possession you need to be doing something with it. Last night, although I wasn't happy with our finishing we did create plenty of chances with our dominant possession....so I guess I'm happier, even though we lost, that we dis try to do something with our possession and that it did result in chances to score. The argument goes that if we keep playing that way with the majority of possession and creating lots of chances to score that we will get better results and both draw and win more games. I still don't think our finishing is good enough.......perhaps they could work on that in training?
