Lincoln away match thread

Games being called off already all over any news on state of Lincoln,s pitch as temperature forecast for -5° real feel -11° will it go ahead long journey for Stanley.

I share your concerns, but the club are being assured pitch on Friday PM is fit to play.

With Lincoln still in the PJT (EFL Trophy) both teams can't really afford another blank weekend

Hope it's on the weather unfortunately doesn't care about teams fixture pile ups and with the postponement,s beginning to rack up it really is down to the weather.

Re: Lincoln away match thread

It makes you wonder, but it is the old conundrum, they will need decent covers on the pitch for it to be playable after going -4 c for several hours, but how do you inspect a pitch with covers on today?

If you inspect a section there is always scope for part of it to be frozen. I reckon it is 50/50 at best, and that is being optimistic.

andyd 13-02-2021 07:35

Re: Lincoln away match thread

Currently -3° not rising above-1° all day in Lincoln real feel between -7° and -9° in the hands of Jack Frost again 50/50 chance I,d say hopefully they have a bit of sun forecast maybe we,ll be lucky.

I wonder if they took the covers off and it was frozen as was entirely predictable.

I'm not sure Doncaster Rovers "had to be rearranged" or they will be willing to do so unless the EFL forces them to.

if i was rovers i,d be trying anything to keep the tuesday date. common sense is a 24 hour put back of the game.

lots depend on how thick the frost was on the pitch yesterday. i hope they took everything into consideration including the weather and the temperatures up to 8 tonight. they must be confident or stupid, time will tell.

Well as I think Stanley are traveling on the day kick off 6 arrive at 4 travel time on coach say 4 hours will be setting off about 11-30/12 so imagine we might have an inkling about it being on after that.

half of the time the commentator did NOT know who the stanley player was, they kept saying the accrington player cleared the ball, they had no idea even with a team sheet in front of em, also the radio kept spoiling the commentry twas utter rubbish in my view,

Good game 2 goals the result of mistakes and 2 excellent goals Smyth is a talented player frightening their defenders Charles great to be scoring bit concerned about how wide open we were in the left back position not sure if Burgess is an out and out full back new lad Morgan excellent pass for Charles equaliser, onto Wednesday no let up but playing like that and we'll be okay.

‘twas certainly a ‘Game of two Halves’, With Stanley dominating the first half. Lincoln then dictated play in the second half :theband:
As others have already said it was a good advert for League One standards. The pitch was very good too.

I think that was the summariser, presumably an ex-player, who sat with the commentator.
He was OK, but the commentator was like an over-excited fan, claiming “oh, brilliant cross field pass” seconds before the ball went five yards over the head of the Lincoln wing back and directly into touch. It became quite a laugh he was so biased.

Exactly first half Lincoln were that poor( outplayed ) he even said Accy played well and deserved to be in front, second half once they got a toe hold Accy were somehow just forgotten.

quite a few away teams have had a large media presence at the Wham this season.
Ironically, the chap doing the Plymouth iFollow was plagued with technical issues last Tuesday. Most Plymouth fans on social media were more than complimentary of Dan Jewell’s outlook. Long way on a Tuesday night for a commentator to travel and his equipment to fail!

That is what I thought. It was about a month ago on ifollow and he was saying that he wasn't allowed to travel and we would have away commentary at the next away match. IIRC The last three matches have all been with away commentary only

Strange that other local BBC commentators can travel to the Wham but Dan isn't travelling to away games, unless it's a personal choice for him which would be completely understandable.
