Mmm
Not playing with the "youth" Maybe training with the younger players; what a good experience for them As always two sides and views in all of this Still was a Conf North player until ASFC paid a fee to bring him to Accy Sadly another player who has has bad advice from his "agent" |
Re: Dion
even dion has got a mind of his own somewhere without an agent. they,ll need an agent next to tell em if its trousers first or the underpants.

Gone Bolton pay undisclosed six figure fee best kept secret for a while, good riddance.

Re: Dion
The worst I've known in my 20 years of supporting Stanley (I know Johnny come lately but I only met Ange in 2001 so previously had no affinity with the club) we have always given no hopers hope but sadly this fool has thrown it back in our face. May you have a truely miserable time in your ventures Mr Charles because we are so much better than you!

Re: Dion
our manager wishes him all the best, I CERTAINLY DO NOT.

Glad that this is done early and we can move on! Cannot help but think that Bolton must be very desperate to sign him...... Big lump of the fee to Southport......... :) :) |

Well, that’s one New Year’s resolution we can all stick to - never to think or talk about the ungrateful brat again.

Re: Dion
A bit of a strange comment there in relation to your interpretation of “class”.
At times like this it is better to go along the diplomacy route - you may wish to try it sometime! 😄 |
Re: Dion
why is it better than the truth?
|
Re: Dion
I’m not saying it is - sometimes it’s the things that aren’t said that yield a better outcome!
|
Re: Dion
well i was brought up to tell the truth simple as.
|
Re: Dion
Cashy - like you, I was also brought up to tell the truth. The point I’m making here is simply that at times, we have to err on the side of diplomacy because if we always spoke the truth, then there would be an awful lot of unhappy people! Happy New Year by the way!

anyway lets hope this thread now comes quickly to an end with it being consigned to history and never be brought up with any other player ever again.

Re: Dion
Can't complain if the fee was anything like the £320k reported in a Bolton paper.
Dion probably got a much better deal too, good luck to him, and so much for 'bad advice'. |

The only explanation to me is that there were other clubs willing to pay close to the same figure which strengthened Stanleys hand to get a cash deal done now. |

The fee would reflect the fact there is only 6 months left, and yes it is likely other clubs would pay similar for a scarce resource. |

He turned up he trained. Can't sack anyone for that. If we had sacked him no fee. Crap situation and maybe the truth will out at some point. Outcome is the best the club could hope for. |
Re: Dion
Can I just ask as well ....... has anyone seen Jackson play in the last 12 months ?
Injury prone ? If he's not good enough for Ipswich why is he good enough for us ? Where's the 4k wages a week coming from ? Remember he's another sulker ...... Ipswich sent him to train with the under 23's last season. Sound familiar ? |

Re: Dion
The trouble is, I know I made such comments when I was in my teens, and I'm pretty sure if you were a boy growing up anywhere like Accy in the 50s, 60s or 70s, maybe even much later, you did too. But luckily social media didn't exist, so we just made the comments and they vanished in the wind.
So I'm always a bit reluctant to condemn anyone for stuff they said (or posted) in their youth, provided they now genuinely appreciate how hurtful those words could be. People have to be allowed to grow up and they mostly do, as I hope I did ..... some take longer than others ..... |
Re: Dion
im sure all of us made comments like he did, i think its the WOKE society that makes a big deal of it.
|
Re: Dion
actually i,d never appologise for something i did as a kid or a teenager. possibly i,d not like reading posts that were not my views now but i,d never be offended about them unless it was personally directed at me and were wrong. all this expectation of youngsters having old heads on their shoulders will never happen but if they follow a certain line can say or have said anything they wish. all the easily offended brigade just do not read things in the first place. i do not read anything lefty, woke stuff to wind me up.

Re: Dion
back to charles reality. watched on ifollow the hartlepool v bolton game last night where he made his debut. was hoping not to praise him but had a good 60 minutes after a slow start. had 3 efforts that looked more or less goal bound blocked. took a couple of defenders out with one move and they looked less like scoring once he went off.

It's interesting that in 2 years at Accy it didn't come to light but then did just 2 days after he signed for the Bolton Dog Botherers it did. What amazes me is that anyone who has a posting history like this doesn't just delete their Twitter account the minute they hit the spotlight and start a new sanitised one. |
