Injuries
Here we go again Shipley confirmed has being out for at least eight weeks what is it about the left back position ?
|
Re: Injuries
We do get some bad luck us. Feeling sorry for the young lad too so early in his career.
|
Re: Injuries
What happened to him???
Did not see anything in the game..... :) |
Re: Injuries
Seem to recall Coley saying it was a sprain/twist of his ankle, and it had swelled up.

Re: Injuries
Cashy my mate, you are correct on both counts ;)
Officials are rubbish, but who wants their jobs???? Stanley are - and have been always - a thorn in their sides, so they get back what they can, when they can!!! Add the two together and it is a miracle we are still in the League, let alone having some time in League 1 :) :) |
Re: Injuries
i have the idea that they have never forgiven Stanley for not completing the fixtures in 62?

Plus they probably remember Cashy abusing them back in the 60's :rofl38::rofl38::rofl38::rofl38::rofl38::rofl38:

Re: Injuries
Sean, Toby, Isherwood, Coyle, Seamus - at least Shipley is back......
:) |
Re: Injuries
Can't we emergency loan a keeper if no Savin or Isherwood.......surely better than what we used to do.....relying on Peter Murphy to cover....

Re: Injuries
Do not want to see Seamus back until he is 100% :)
Rushed back too often and it does not work. If we look at Joe Pritchard, he looks like a brand new player, who can play 100% for 90+ :) :) |
Re: Injuries
Joe is amazing - absolutely looks like a new signing, long may it continue

Re: Injuries
Good that we have Seamus back :)
|
Re: Injuries
Ros off with a knee injury according to Dan............... :(
:) |
Re: Injuries
Sean, Toby and Liam doubts until next year according to Coley..... :(
Plus points, Woods/Martin have played well and McCracken is a very good keeper :) :) |
Re: Injuries
Having those 4 go off injured last night is more of a concern to me than going out of the fa cup - just hope they were only precautionary substitutions & none are too serious
|
Re: Injuries
Roz and Seamus looked the most serious, I guess we'll just have to wait until press day on Thursday for answers. Let's hope Josh A is fit for Saturday.........Did anyone else see the fall out between Lowe and Nolan.......other Stanley players had to keep them apart. Lowe was swearing at Nolan and Nolan wanted to square up to him......
|
Re: Injuries
So the Wrexham game is already a sell-out..........our main striker is still sick with an infection and the four who limped off on Tuesday aren't anywhere near fit. Better take me boots along on Saturday......."I used to be a wizard on the left-wing"......when football positions had different names.........Ahhh those were the days!!!!
|
Re: Injuries
Jack Nolan suspected hamstring......

Jay Rich (again) and John McCracken injured in Swindon games..... :(
:) |
Re: Injuries
Hope Jon's injury isn't too serious but doesn't sound good that he left with his arm in a sling - Jay's could be hamstring according to Jimmy
|
Re: Injuries
I also suspect Matt Lowe may have damaged a rib from the way he limped away from his clash with their goalie.

Re: Injuries
Joe Walsh new emergency loan keeper joins Joe Gubbins on loan from QPR. Over 6 ft 3 ins. Some loan experience in non league. 21, good interview on fishy. If he plays as confidently as he speaks should be OK. Good luck Joe.
|
Re: Injuries
Ligament damage for Tommy, according to Coley... :(
:) |
Re: Injuries
Pritchard, Seamus and Ros, all off injured yesterday.... :(
Listening to Coley, they are not all long term, but with games coming thick and fast, we could do without them....... :( :) |
Re: Injuries
Thus far, the young lads who come in have more than held their own.
O’Brien is a good, attacking right back. Pickles is a solid CB. Henderson is proving himself a strong and attacking midfielder. Dan Martin and Ben Woods should (imho) be regarded as first choice in their positions now. Josh Woods is not as hefty as some strikers but is fast and, at Crewe, discovered the art of goal poaching. They deserve their places, and good luck to them. |
Re: Injuries
Matt Lowe now out for months with another hip injury - operation imminent..... :(
:) |
Re: Injuries
Seamus 3, 4 weeks.... :( over to you Dan and Ben....... :)
:) |
Re: Injuries
Massive blow to lose Ros for a long period :(
Hope that it is not as bad a first thought when he sees Specialist :( :) |
Re: Injuries
Come the Gills game - next League game - we should have a few more back......
Need Seamus to play a part in every game from now until the end of the season :) Dan and Ben need as much time on the pitch with him as is possible :) |
Re: Injuries
our managment only plays young uns when theres no other choice.if you cant see that joe you got worse eyes than me.
|
Re: Injuries
Shaun Whalley out for 5, or 6 weeks.... big loss :(
:) |
Re: Injuries
Now he will be a loss. Never missed a game last season, so hope he recovers fully.
|
Re: Injuries
Josh Andrews out until March..not good :(
I love Josh Woods, but he is a different type of player :) :) |

I know what you are saying Exile, but at 15:24 today, W should have buried that chance......

Re: Injuries

But nobody knows whether (a) Andrews or another striker would have had the fleet of foot to get in the position, or (b) actually put it away. |
Re: Injuries
I was stood with my good friend Choirboy and he said and I quote "I would have scored that and I am 72!" :)
It was at the other end of the pitch, so he may have delusions of grandeur, but I know where he was coming from :) :) |
Re: Injuries
Quote:
Choirboy and me are of the same vintage and I’m sure we both believe we could have scored, but only if we’d use our bus passes to get into position.;) |
Re: Injuries
Btw, given the shortage of available strikers the sudden release of Owen Davenport to join Fleetwood is even more puzzling. I can’t imagine saving his wages will make much impact on club finances.
Davenport started for King’s Lynn yesterday and helped them secure an away point. |
Re: Injuries
So Joe Walsh has returned to QPR, can only hope this means that Toby is fully fit again
|
Re: Injuries
I think it is more that they want him, as opposed to we do not need him........ :(
:) |

I know there was talk about him coming in the Summer. Looks promising. Hope he's as good as the last two lads we've had on loan.

Re: Injuries
JRB, out for a while.
Pritchard and Shipley injured also.............. :) |
Re: Injuries
Baba Fernandes might get a run out, now the AFCON is nearly done
|
Re: Injuries
I've noticed it before this season that whilst players for normal substitutions are rarely made to leave the pitch at the nearest point the same doesn't apply when the substitution is for a player who is injured. JRB had to limp half way round the pitch yesterday which can't help. Surely let them get back to the dressing room by the shortest route and add another 30 seconds or whatever on.
|
Re: Injuries
15 players on the treatment table according to Coley - after Wimbledon game.......................
:) |
Re: Injuries
Whilst every single football club suffers injuries, we seem to always be top loaded when it comes to injuries, which always makes me think the players are either not prepped properly or, we are on the back foot with regards rehabilitation. I am sure the football staff are pulling out all the stops in making sure we have a fit squad but the problem seems to repeat itself every single season.

Re: Injuries
Seamus went off with his groin according to Coley in the post-match :(

(actually, I do, as Connor’s was a perfectly timed tackle and, without the theatrics from the Bradford player, would have warranted applause). |
