Each competition will run for 2 weeks, 12 days for uploading photo's and a further 2 days which can be used for voting only
During the 12 days uploading time you will be able to vote and there will be an option to cancel your vote if you feel a better picture has been submitted.
After the 12 day upload period, voting only will be allowed for 2 days then voting will be stopped.

Anyone can vote, you don't have to enter the competition to be entitled to a vote but it is 1 vote per person

The winner will get to choose a theme for the next competition ( You won't need to do anything else, the moderators will create the folder to be uploaded too)
Voting ends at 10pm on the Friday night, you have 36 hours to contact me with a theme (until 10am Sunday UK time) if I have not been contacted within this time the runner up will pick the theme.

In the event of a tie the person who chose the theme will decide on the winner

4 entrys are allowed per person
Any more than this will be removed, your 1st 4 uploads will stay - later ones will be removed

All images must be your own work, scanned, digital, phone, video stills are all allowed, please dont use images off the web or from mags as we dont want Accyweb getting into trouble for hosting copyright images. You will retain copyright of all your images.
Photo's altered with image editing software will be allowed

We now have some small prizes to be awarded, we won't be giving one away for every competition so what we will do is:-
Give 1 away for every 6 competitions, this will mean a prize will be given approx every 12 week.
I will put he 6 winning images into a thread with a poll on so people can vote for the one they like, it will run for 5 days then the poll will close, Mick is holding the prizes and will contact the winner with details of how they can collect it.
I will not be able to enter as I run the comp neither will any of the Accy moderators, this doesn't stop us entering the fortnightly comp - it just means if we happened to win one our entry wouldn't go into the prize draw, we would in that case enter the runner up from the week we won.
Prize you could win by entering this competition is a Mini tripod

1. Click Here
2. Select the latest competition
3. Press the "upload photos" button (top right of page)
4. Make sure latest competition is in the drop down list
5. Press the "Browse" button and select your image
6. Enter a title and description if required
7. Press "Upoad/submit" near the bottom of the page

Doesn't seem like Busman474 is about so I will pick the theme to get the comp going.
I give this a bit of thought and I am trying to get people to take photo's rather than digging into the archives for them, i'm as guilty at this as anyone :)
So this theme is Films/TV titles - you maybe able to find some ideas from HERE - lets see what you can come up with :)

The sunset one?
As long as it fits a film title or tv program then there OK, I can think of Sunset boulevard and after the sunset was it one of them?

I'm not sure that I will be able to enter this one. My digital camera needs to have a disk in it which is then placed into my A drive. I know, the camera is well old but it still works ok!

Unfortunately, my computer crashes each time I use the A drive..........I'm waiting for the 'man who knows' to come back off his hols to sort it out. Anyway, I'll have a look in my folders, but failing that............good luck everyone xx

I think I might just struggle to find something that fits this criteria........I don't watch much TV and I have never been a great film fan!

Now we are back I would like to ask a question when you vote what are you voting for?
1 A good picture.
2 A well taken picture.
3 A funny type picture.
4 A picture taken by a friend who's turn it is to win?

Just an observation that the winning photo is not 1,2 or 3 so it must be 4, no offence katex but imho there are some good pictures that have no votes.

well i just vote on the pic i like
i could take the names off all the pics then you would not know who it was that put it on but it would mean a lot of work as the system wont do it auto.

Listen Bagpuss, as said on our temporary forum I would be the first to agree with you, and don't know one end of a camera from t'other .. just a cute little black number I point and press. I enter to boost up the numbers as lots of us do just vote with our hearts and one that pleases them.

I do myself 'cause I wouldn't recognise a good photograph if someone spent time with me pointing out the merits.

Don't think I haven't been more than embarassed every time I looked in and seen another vote ... think it is 'cause people are nostagic about the Dambusters or summat.

If it were judged on technicalities, then we would have to have a professional panel, wouldn't we ? Not many of us would enter either, knowing there are the likes of Kipax, K.S.H, Junetta,Margaret and others around who have digital equipment and a good eye for a photograph . rest wouldn't stand a chance... just fun anyway and keeps us chatting even though can be controversial sometimes.. :D

Katex....I am flattered to be in the same list as K.S.H. and Kipax...they are real photographers.....I just play at it. I think people will choose whatever picture takes their fancy.......and there is nothing wrong with that. I just wish more people would vote....you'd think it cost a quid to vote!

Just vote on the image that you would like to see winning the competition, doesn't matter what you like about it, could be the set up, quality, humour anything.

im with willow on this one ..i put my vote in even if i don't enter .i think its a worthwhile competition .....i now go around with my camera in my handbag ...just to take a photo of something that i think may be interesting to add to a competition ...if that catagory appears ....strewth what an interesting world through a lens .

I have voted and am quite happy to as there are some real corkers in there. I may not always have a photo to enter (shame on me) but enjoy seeing the handy work of other members and what they consider to be perfect for the comp.

I just picked which one i liked most. I like all the photos that go up and sometimes its hard to pick which one. When that happens i just close my eyes and move the mouse and click!

By the way thanks for everyone who voted for mine - thats the most votes i got in the times i entered. I took that standing at my back door the sunset looked nice so i took a pic.
