I'll post some pictures of China up here every now and again just for interest!

I'll start with this one, which is a typical view no matter where you look whilst in this city... cranes and cranes and cranes... building sites are everywhere!

You can't beet a munching on a good old chickens foot!

If you are all that desperate for summat to eat, maybe we all can club together and send you over some decent food roy. Jammie wagon wheels, jammie dodgers, much nicer than that rubbish.

All I can say is keep off the cats if you're eating 'cos you'll only end up with the SARS virus & we don't want you bringing that back to Accy now, do we?

Think i'll go there for my holidays, one sure way to lose weight. It's no wonder you dont see a fat china man/woman.

Anyway, a fiew views from that big hotel I was telling you all about! New Years Eve and it's a bit smoggy....

I'll bet most of the europeans eat in Macdonalds, they must make a fortune. ( i dont mean cookies )

Yeah, probably order a Frog Quarter Pounder with french Fries.....

Believe it or not, I counted 12 golden arch establishments just in the north west part of Hong Kong Island. Never went to the Eastern part of the city and couldn't be bothered to count them in Kowloon, Stanley or Aberdeen. I am proud to say that I never ate in any of them (it's nasty stuff anyway) but I did have a lovely pizza at Pizza Hut (but only once).:daisy:

Well, it's new years eve here in china and here is a picture that was taken just 20 mins ago, of us all with the chinese workers in the factory we are working in. The big blue thing in the background is one of the machines that are made at Emerson And Renwick in Accrington!! We are all off now for the factory party... mucho beer please!!!

I used to work at Emerson and Renwick also. I found it a lovely place to work at!

New Years Meal
 

Back on the subject of chinese cuisine, this is what was served for us an our works Chinese new year celebration.
It was a hard choice Roast Duck or Roast Pigeon, Hmmm I wonder?

Any chance of sneaking in in your luggage?

...I think I'm right in saying that's supposed to be the best part (along with the claws)....you eat all the chewy bits first, then finish with the beak and toes. Nice and crunchy, like pork scratchings.

Never tried pidgeon, what's it like? Had the roast duck, and it's really good. Had roast suckling pig in Sardinia, which comes complete with head, and lots of crispy skin and that's fantastic. I believe they do it over at Alghero's near the Houghton Arms.
