Congratulations to LESS on winning competition 47.

Each competition will run for 2 weeks, 12 days for uploading photo's and a further 2 days which can be used for voting only.
During the 12 days uploading time you will be able to vote and there will be an option to cancel your vote if you feel a better picture has been submitted.
After the 12 day upload period, voting only will be allowed for 2 days then voting will be stopped.
Anyone can vote, you don't have to enter the competition to be entitled to a vote but it is 1 vote per person
The winner will get to choose a theme for the next competition.
( You won't need to do anything else, the moderators will create the folder to be uploaded too)
UPLOADING ends at 10pm on the Friday night, you have 48 hours to VOTE (until 10pm Sunday UK time)
The winner then has 12 hours to PM Mick with the next THEME (PLEASE PM DO NOT POST THE NEW THEME ON SITE I COULD MISS IT PM ONLY PLEASE)
if I have not been contacted within this time Mick will pick the theme.
In the event of a tie the person who chose the theme will decide on the winner
4 entries are allowed per person.
Anymore than this will be removed, your 1st 4 uploads will stay - later ones will be removed.
All images must be your own work,Or close family.
Scanned,(from your own photos) digital, phone, video stills are all allowed, (please dont use images off the web or from mags or from postcards as we dont want Accyweb getting into trouble for hosting copyright images).
You will retain copyright of all your images.
Photo's altered with image editing software will be allowed

Hey, not an engineer .. how will I know what cast iron is .. could be plastic for all I know. :rolleyes:

If you run at it head first and it gives you ringing sound between the ears it's iron, if you just feel a dull thud it's plastic!:D

The older ones are, it's surprising how much of that kind of stuff is still around and some of it has interesting designs. It will certainly be difficult to make it cutesy by sticking a child in the picture, unless it's an old picture of a loom with it's 12 year old operator stood at it.:D

Anyway, this was my second choice Mick wouldn't allow my first.:o

Found something in the house that is cast iron ... no bumps on me head though Less ... LOL. Knew that as I couldn't lift it, couldn't possibly be plastic :cool: That's why had to take prostrate on the floor ... :D

Voting has closed and for once we have a tie between these two photos
Normally the member that set the theme would pick the winner but as he has not been online for a few days
as he is full of a cold i will pick the winner this time.
when i have decided how to do this:D
the winner will be announced tomorrow at 10pm

Sorry for the delay in answering, was busy ignoring the bank holiday.

Been in deep thought about the winner and have taken my time studying both pictures closely, I think however that due to the clarity of the picture Churchman phil has managed to take the prize this time, congratulations to you and commiserations to katex for being forced into second place. :)

May I just say thanks to all that found something to enter, some diverse lumps of metal have been displayed.

S'okay Less no commiserations required ... silver medal place is nothing to be sneered at. :s_cry:

I love our photo' comp, because you don't have to be an expert, well, I certainly am not, just try to look for stuff that is a little different, and a caption can seal it .. most ones that win are not usually technically good, are they. What appeals to the voters at the end of the day, which is, on the whole, appeal of the content.

Well done Churchman Phil ... I voted for yours.. mmmm maybe I shouldn't have ... LOL.. x
